    Dunedin (im fairly certain) has a key on the power board which when turned provides the extra  lux (light) required for filming international events. It seldom gets turned cause it costs more to run

    Most of the red Devils left without shaking hands. What was that about? were they in a hurry or were they just being pratts

    Correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the club have guidelines to good behaviour and Im pretty sure this incident breached them. What happened was a bunch of drunk players turned up looking for a fight and ruined what was meant to be a fun game of hockey for the others and someone associated with Kings pissed on the carpet in the front entry and this sort of stuff  pisses me off. Dont friggin use alcohol as an excuse .
    Ups to Rhys for being man enough to clean up someone else’s pee so the game could start.

    fraud = creative marketing?.
    Im not even sure of what lying and cheating they apparently carried out and im not debating the ethics of their actions. My take on it is that these guys are putting big sums of money and their reputations on the line to promote ice hockey on a scale that none of us have ever had the gumption/knowledge/skills to  even think about. It is in their best interests to get a quality product out there. If I was a promoter with lots of money invested and was asked “are you going to put out a good product or crappy product” I would say ” yeah its going to be amazing” even if I knew in my heart Rhys would never make it to the NHL

    No one is asking you to go see them play. people may well go along and see an exciting game and be none the wiser. they may be dissapointed but so what? theres to many armchair critics around who are willing to beat  an opportunity into a negative thing and thats whats happening here

    How about giving these guys a break. They are simply taking a product and advertising it. Im gonna presume that its a good thing for ice hockey

    Sounds like  the fight has gone from the stampede for this year. I guess that was inevitable given the workload their main players have carried over the years. Good that the thunder have finaly got that monkey off the back

    Knowing what my gloves smell like it may have improved the smell. Im glad those “high up in the NZIHF” are investigating. I can see it now, all sniffing the offending glove to see if its true then making some crappy judgement that puts the offender in the shit, wow! this topic has some real scope

    A point that hasnt being made is who wants to be a good referee. WHen you look at the makeup of a good ref he need a number of atrtributes ie, good skating skills, the neccesity to learn and remember large amounts of information, ability to make istantaneous decisions and application of information learned, impartiality, lots of experience reffing, cool head, the ability to distance yourself from your supposed friends, thick skinned  not to mention that people need to respect you as a person in everyday life. When you throw in the fact that its far more fun to play hockey than to be the target of abuse It all adds up to a dwindled supply of who wants to be a good ref anyway. They are in short supply right from the start
