Honestly guys download sopcast, then go to myp2p.eu and stream the hockey from there, not only do you not have to have sky, you get american or canadian feed so they know what they are talking about, and they do indepth analysis.
I watched Russia Czech game at home yesterday and it didn’t lag once….
They added a new one tonight apparently the shootout has been renamed “Game winning shots”, it was a shame ovie could only score 1-3 of his game winning shots….not the 0-2 the commentator insisted on..
He also failed to recognise Ovie had scored two goals in his previous outing, leaving him scoreless in the commentators mind
Wtf…they want more figure skating on Prime? its already every afternoon all afternoon….

Apparently you can’t standstill with the puck in hockey according to the commentator? is that actually a rule that isn’t enforced, or was numb nuts just plain wrong.Also the slovaks were doing poorly cos they could only maintain possession for 25 secs. Which to me seems like great puck control
Also there seems to be no wrist shots only flick shots???
Re: Travel, to queenstown from chch its just a drive.
To Taupo for most teams it would be a flight than a (2 hr +) drive which i suppose isn’t too bad. I was thinking more in terms of cost, I assume its easier to get cheap flights between chch, queenstown and Dunedin to Auckland than it is to taupo??Incidentally never thought about it before but South Island teams get shafted. All 3 have one 3hr and one 6 hr drive, which generally is followed immediately to a couple of hours within arrival, with a game.
Whereas North Island teams, have a 30min drive (>????) and then fly directly to the oppositions rink for the other games.
As far as NZIHL goes, Taupo would certainly have a decent base for inline converts (debate begins now on merit of them, I would argue while not ideal, better than place where no one has seen a hockey stick)
But the travel would be diabolical, AFAIK Taupo isn’t on a main trunk line for flights, thereby increasing travel time and costs exponentially. Would almost be cheaper to have 6th franchise based in Melbourne.
Pooh to Wellington they have been talking about it for years, I think I will be as old as Keith before anything happens, whether I will be able to kick my head at that age I will leave open to speculation.
But yeah for the good of growth in this country there definitely needs to be at least one if not 3-4 rinks between CHCH and Auckland, and what about invers I am sure the licensing trust has paid of the velodrome, time for an ice rink I say.
Incidentally a Velodrome and a Luge track are probably the two largest white elephants in sport, most people can ride a bike sure, but I am not sure how many go for a casual lap on the track.
Not as bad as luge though, you definately can’t go for casual luge…..or you could but probably pay to have your will in order.Did you hear about the ice hockey goalie? He couldn’t figure out why the puck kept getting bigger and bigger………..then it hit him
You guys realise that the 4 game suspension is an urban myth?
There was a fight in NZIHL this year were neither player received a suspension.
