Woohoo

ModeratorNHL plays one game every year outside….in america where the outside temperature is like -5000 compared to our -5 I think it could work
Azzy77
ModeratorIf the north vs South game was to go ahead that would be a good game to host in tekapo.
Azzy77
ModeratorYeah what Vpatrol said.
The Final is decided generally in the last week of round robin anyway hopefully.
It will be this year to i think, at least who is in it.So I think you could have different options avaliable for different makeups of the final.
Yeah I was thinking away-home-home too.
Maybe Dunedin and queenstown could alternate who gives up a home round each year and tour the region.
Or Since its only a drive each get one home game on their weekends. And have one weekend where two away games are played at gore, tekapo, alex, naseby???
Thoughts on that?

ModeratorAlso I think to get bigger crowds in Dunedin the thunder just have to win, or at least be competitive with more teams…..
It is slightly deceptive though with the size, there are more people in there than you think.Azzy77
ModeratorChinstrap.
Would you like to see for the winner Home-away-home or Home-home-away
or away-home-home????Plod16
I am not sure why gore doesn’t get a game would be an interesting question i suppose?
I am not entirely sure about the size or the quality of their ice though. Although I may be wrong been a while since I was down there.Azzy77
ModeratorWe were proposing this format based soley on the fact that it would be two south island teams in the final.
Which is looking very likely this year. Unless the second round is completely different and I see no reason to believe otherwise.
Azzy77
ModeratorIt is a one off game. In the top of the table teams home barn
Azzy77
ModeratorMaybe if they become heroes, they could have a parade.
A hero parade if you will….Sorry Jamrock and Vpatrol it was just sitting there i had to kick it….
Azzy77
ModeratorYeah yeah hear aston.
I think that the Devils goalies have it hard with their lack of shots, because it is difficult to show your skills with limited shots.
As Aston says with Red Devils getting scores like 10 or 11, if their goalie lets in 2 or 3 its irrelevant. So they never have the oportunity to look like a heroThere is also the added pressure of if you let in 1 out of 10 shots you will look bad, whereas if you let in 1 out of 30 shots you are a hero, and a lack of quantity of shots doesn’t always mean a lack of quality of shots.
The (hopefully) test for them will come in their games against stampede

ModeratorChinstrap you rated Gobeil as second best goalie in League…but now you are saying if he plays devils will win two??
I don’t understand.
Azzy77
ModeratorTom for a guru you don’t seem to get this voting thing…..
We don’t count peoples comments you have to click a box above.

ModeratorBahaha
Come see and exciting game of Ice Hockey and you might go home with a game worn helmet*
*league not responsible for injuries incurred in distribution of helmet, speed may vary

ModeratorBtw people probably shouldn’t take this poll to seriously…..I don’t think it is actually who is the best goalie in the league. It is who do YOU think is the best goalie.
I am pretty sure Bonazzo is not going to make his selections based on this meaningless Poll……but just in case he is Vote for Bryant and all your wildest dreams will come true…..
Azzy77
ModeratorYeah Aston is from the new new school of goaltending….
Head saves were underutilised by the old style of keeper. With its height relative to the crossbar when in butterfly position it is the perfect save to use when the puck is heading for just under the crossbar…..
Can I come to your goalie school aston, teach me your ways….I might let you in on the hand of lightening secret….
