agree with you there, need to build a base of operations an get established before we think of NZIHL wellington would be a much better venue and apparently the Mayor is all for it but just getting thing going would take a while but 6-8yrs?? really?? one thing i do know is that the marketing is complete crap! well here in brisbane is, there are Zero Posters or Radio announcements or ANYTHING! I only found my local rink because my sister was looking for the ymca and drove past a sign that said ‘ice world’ so she went for a look. Plenty of in-house adverts but other than that? yeh i know it costs money… still…

that would be because of the population difference, it’s ridiculous.
could the powers that be combine both leagues? not just one nz team in aussie league but the entire leagues combined? financials would be a bitch but could you imagine it? O for oresome!!!
i cant beleive nz ice hockey is as big as it is, and getting bigger! australian hockey isn’t as big (i live in brisbane) apart from that big complex they building in melbourne the rinks here are the poos. I only found my local rink by mistake and have just started playing… sort of
big props to nz hockey eh? how many rinks in nz have the glass walls? i dont think any here have em
