it probley will Azzy but we get to play for it. Not discounting them but really??? i dont think they do hold any stats like that but would be a few behind Peter Anderson, Mark Symonds, Graham Glass who have a least 20 odd peter probley 30 odd
Plod i hope they dont do that again as the cup went missing for a number of years in the 80’s i recall and was found in Peter Anderson’s attic a few years later. It was originally played with Canty teams dont that idea hmm na just dont like cantys
Aucks and CHCH are not like Dunners and Qtown they are very hard to deal with might take a couple of years to beak the ice excuse the pun
This is my 15th year playing in it, im not going to lie hear im not over the moon going to Gore or Alex when when you have such memories as the SIHL womans team running down the main street of Nasby in the nick or riding the bull in Tekapo.
It was decided by all in the SIHL and I know they talked to Ben who’s farm it was first played on for his decsion and now well its such as life, it sounds as it would be wise to submit a remit to the SIHL to change the ruling, back to the original outdoor ruling Queenstown will be behind you on that.
I think that Dunedin is missing out not coming as we still get to play what we love, we get to be part of something greater than ourselves and where all players wether its your first year or your 15th get enjoy the only envroment left were rivalrys and disputes are set aside for the game to be played for the spirit of it
oh and just for your info Dunedin and Queenstown are tied for the most winning team in Erewhon Cup history
Profit is name of the game here isnt going to chnge for a long time unless hockey can provide more money than public sessions simple as that
If you dont remember 13 Dunedin was the club only 5 years ago to led the charge on changing the the rule from outdoors to indoors. Winning it is not at the top of the list, very close second after playing in it.
the duration dates and number of games are set as a remit to the national agm and passed there first. From there the defending champions choose there schedule when there games are and when there weekends off are.
So if you look at theres, they play 2 weekends and have one off. Then every ones else fits in around there and they get what they are dealt as they all lost
There isnt really any consideration for other sporting events, but its upto the individual club once the schedule is set out to apply for date changes your management are involved in this, most that are applied for are declined generally if there outside the remit passed at the agm
game times are totaly set by the individual club, NZIHL has nothing to do with that. And that depends on what the club think they can make out of it as, the club pays a set fee to the NZIHL for every game held, then its upto the club wether they make money or not.
