Despite that canterbury is technically the enemy and their goalie Vince once touched me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, I actually quite like the Devils, and I’m glad they’re getting the wins they deserve.
[/quote:38ecbmh9]You never used the safe word so how should I have known?
[/quote:38ecbmh9]I was enjoying it, but afterwards I felt empty, alone and used.
ChrisMember"Defense101":3vjbapaf wrote:Personal experience playing against the queenstown boys I agree with all the comments. Probably far outplayed the Thunder and there is a southern rivalry there. The teams love to play one another (or at least I did). On the ice though both teams chirp back and forth to get under eachothers skin. Only difference is that is where the rivalry ends with Dunedin. They aren’t physical and don’t do the little chips and hooks like queenstown does. In one persons eyes that can be looked upon as dirty play. For two rivalry teams I think that is just common action between two rival teams. Glad to hear they had some good moments. Better then the last two games for sure. Any coaches walk of the bench this time?

And No, I didn’t want to take you to bed!
[/quote:15gahn2y]I was there. You may not have recognised me, since I don’t look exactly like my avatar (I wasn’t wearing sunglasses).
…. and if you’re kelf’s mum then something is very wrong in queenstown…
@Stefan – I saw you put some hits on tonight mate, big ups! You’re the champ!

Yeah, I went there…
ChrisMember[quote:3bgceivv]Dirty Play you can call it what you want – if the ref don’t see it, its not a penalty[/quote:3bgceivv]
Yes I know I can call it what I want, hence I called it “dirty play” rather than “penalties”. It’s like talking to a six year old.
[quote:3bgceivv]Maybe you guys should be taking some notes and passing them onto your team rather than sitting infront of you computer bleeting on about how dirty the team that just put 12 goals on you are.[/quote:3bgceivv]
Yeah, ’cause I’m the coach and Jens runs an internet hockey forum, right?
Wait, no…

[/quote:1fnuz455]I couldn’t get on the team, ’cause I don’t play hockey very well, a fact which is quite well known around here.
"kelf6966":1fnuz455 wrote:Sad your team cant show that sort of balls
[/quote:1fnuz455]Since you appear to have the reading age of a mentally impaired two year old, I’ll make the effort to point out that my original point was precisely the fact that the Thunder were getting physically dominated.
Tell you what, we’ll make a deal. I’ll try to play hockey better, and in return you see if you can make it all the way through a Hairy Maclary book without using a dictionary.

[/quote:1vdhefvz]I’ll assume you’re referring to me there.
I am used to “contact” sports. You would not feel comfortable speaking to me in that fashion in real life. At least, you wouldn’t for very long.
In case the insertion of your head into your sphincter has impaired your vision, I’ll requote the part of my post where I talk about who won:

[/quote:1gs2hjeq]Thunder definitely had their moments tonight, but Stampede physically dominated them. I’m not sure if it’s ’cause Jens is all european and whatnot, but the Thunder just will not hit. Time and time again I saw thunder players back away from a perfectly legitimate hit, while the stampede went for every hit they could scrounge – legal or otherwise.
I have to say, I think Stampede’s bad reputation as a dirty team is justified. It’s not so much that there were massive calls that the ref missed, more that the Stampede are just constantly hooking, slashing, holding, whatever they can do and get away with.
I’m not complaining because of the scoreline – the Stampede deserved that win, they were the better team, and some of their goals were textbook perfect.
Big props to Parry for saving the Thunder time and time again – that guy is good.

ChrisMember"Ryan":1n8uv7rb wrote:Saying “we need help, please volunteer” is pretty useless IMO. You need to be explicit, ie: we need someone to do the following jobs a, b, c, d and e. Asking for help in general almost never works in my experience.
[/quote:1n8uv7rb]Exactly. For example, “we need help with the music”…. Well, Harry King is learning the art of being a club DJ. Has anyone asked him?
He might be busy, but I’ll bet he hasn’t been asked.
ChrisMemberYou keep saying “Nobody ever volunteers”.
Tried asking?
In the three-ish years I’ve been hanging around Ice Hockey, nobody’s ever asked for my help with anything.
Maybe it’s just because I’m a reject loser who nobody wants to hang out with, but if you needed a doorman for thunder games, why didn’t you just ask?
ChrisMember"vpatrol":3273in0e wrote:I’ll explain this one Kyle so you can avoid the banging your head against the wall.Devils stomp the Swarm 2-0 means they will win 2 games to the Swarm’s 0 by scorelines that could be defined as a “stomp”. I’ll settle for 2 close wins though!
[/quote:3273in0e]Thanks man. Sometimes I think there should be a license test before anyone can drive the interwebs.
ChrisMemberDevils will stomp the Swarm 2-0
ChrisMemberWow, Jofa Player, you need to man up buddy. What a little girl…
ChrisMemberIt’s definitely an easton typhoon, and it’s definitely a one-piece, and it’s definitely the toe that’s broken. Not sure about whether it’s tapered, might have to have a look. Maybe you guys are thinking of the cyclone? the Cyclone is two-piece, I have one of those too.
