Kara, if it weren’t for the fact that our team manager, Mark hareb, is “in the loop” and is conscientious enough to organise these things on our behalf, I wouldn’t have even known about the SIHL, let alone known who to contact about getting into a team.

As usual, the information doesn’t flow.

    My full sympathy Kara.

When the Beasts were a B-Grade team, having A-Graders like Jason and Andy able to play in both grades really helped us along as a team. As to whether or not this is good or bad for the league, I venture no opinion (though, of course, I have one).

well, it sounds as though this may end up being the only development that has been undertaken in Dunedin in quite some time that will be: a) useful, b) reasonably priced and c) almost universally supported.

And by “quite some time” I mean Since the botanic  gardens were built in 1929 (1926??).

Also, what impact will these developments have on current rink operations?

Specifically, will this stop us playing for any length of time?

    Ryan & Stefan,

Sorry guys, but I’m out again this week, and probably for the whole season, as I’m not going to be able to turn up regularly.

Playing on both wednesday and thursday isn’t really an option for me this year, as it turns out. I had no idea I would be this busy!!!!

    Cheers guys

    Chris

    That is most excellent!

Yeah, I’m a big fan of Don Ross too.

Drifting requires such good timing though, I find it really difficult to get it right.

Well Like I said, I know people have reasons and they are probably god ones, but seriously it’s a waste of time as coming down to coach 5 people. If people let me know, then I can make the call whether to nix training or not. I mean it’s not a lot to ask for.

Yep, I totally see where you’re coming from there Ryan. It never even crossed my mind that my lack of attendance might inconvenience others. My bad, and I’ll be sure to let you know well in advance next time.

I know you and stef are giving up your own time to coach, and we do appreciate that.

Andy McKee? Yeah, I have all his albums, 2 of his dvds and a couple of letters from him.

He’s in my top three favourite artists/bands (The other two are Mozart and Stone Sour – go figure)

Like Ryan said, everyone is paying for these practices, so not turning up doesn’t make much sense, unless you’ve got a heap of money floating around that you aren’t attached to.

Yep, that’s true. The corollary of this, therefore, is that if people aren’t turning up then there’s a good reason for it.

Apologies for not turning up tonight Ryan. I got held up much, much later than I thought I was going to be. The amount of time I’m spending at Uni these days is beyond insane.

Will let you know in advance next time :S
