I would actually be interested to see as the large majority of people playing weren’t actually club players as to what the DIHA can actually enforce since the players involved are not governed by or dictated to by the DIHA

If as Ryan said several of the rules were breached, [u:2ap3ep50]WHY[/u:2ap3ep50] was the game then allowed to start in the first place, clearly either because of lack of understanding of them on the referees behalf or perhaps the procedures/ rules developed proved quite clearly woefully inadequate for the situation

This is a good point, but from the sound of it the referees did the right thing in calling off the game. I’m sure they’ve thought about it in hindsight, and have an idea of how they’ll handle a similar situation in the future.

As to how the DIHA can punish non-DIHA members – it can’t, except through the normal procedure of civil suit or filing a police report if the association believes it has a case. However, as the DIHA is 1/3rd owner of the rink, it’s clear that if the DIHA has a mind to, it could arrange for offending players to be banned from the rink by way of a standard trespass notice.

My stars are red, yours are yellow. That means I’m the sheriff in this town, so I hand out the points.

+500 to Chris just for shits and giggles.

Aston, your pointless, tongue-in-cheek faux outrage isn’t nearly as amusing as you imagine it to be.

I wish people would stop abusing the most concisely stated and subtle point of Western philosophy. It makes me cry little tears.

This game turned into a farce. A large proportion of the Kings players were drinking before the game and three fights broke out in the first 15 minutes so the referee’s called the game off.

I am completely and utterly unsurprised.

Jesus! The Ice Blacks forwards must have been on fire as I was well informed by a certain Belgian goalie that no New Zealand players would stand a chance at scoring on the net of the Belgian national team – ever.

Holy cripes. It wasn’t that long ago we were in division IV and here we are kicking ass in the second division. Goes to show how much the level of NZ hockey has skyrocketed in the past few years.

Aaron, I don’t think Ryan’s having a go here. It would just be good to get this sorted out for the future.
