[/quote:2n9dcz6h]Yep, really even 53mins vs 16mins penalties

[/quote:2la4tvyv]Again my point of very one sided refereeing! Are you trying to say their were no cheap shots coming from the other side??!! You would have to be pretty naive to think anyone’s gonna believe that.

whos the better team then!
[/quote:2la4tvyv]I would say to very even teams physically, Stampede had major problems finishing off. The Red Devils have some wicked forwards that as it’s been said before are ‘unstoppable’! Will be interesting to see the result when they meet again. Could go either way.
cowgirlMemberPretty sure the reference to 7 on 5 is observing the fact the the ref was playing for Canterbury!
(Canterbury = 5 players, 1 goalie, 1 referee, Southern 4 play
ers, 1 goalie)
For those that have had one too many pucks to the head! ” title=”Wink” />The refereeing for both games was extremely one sided (nothing new). This is something New Zealand hockey need to work on so we can always have neutral refs.
No matter how good they are they are always going to favour their team – it’s called human nature.cowgirlMemberTekapo is not really an option for this level of hockey – isn’t it still outdoors?!
It’s a wicked rink but I can’t imagine a national league game there.
Would be cool for a North/South game but again there’s the possibility of rain/snow/too much sun/wind….
As for a 3 game final – it would have to be over one weekend and in the top team’s home town.cowgirlMember"Chris":8kuci0ie wrote:"Azzy77":8kuci0ie wrote:"Chris":8kuci0ie wrote:If it had been a poll for the most handsome goalie, vince, I would have voted for you.
[/quote:8kuci0ie]I think Aaron Bryant is an especially handsome goalie…..and he makes some pretty sexual glove saves
[/quote:8kuci0ie]I agree. Bryant definitely grooms my ice.
[/quote:8kuci0ie]I disagree

There’s a photo in one of Peter’s albums somewhere. I guess he’s an Admiral?!
Looks like some kind of Navel officer/sea captain kinda thing.[/quote:1w8hilax]
We’re fairly positive he’s an admirals supporter.
Something about the whole naval uniform / cheering wildly for the admirals thing gave him away…
[/quote:1w8hilax]Hahaha, I meant he’s DRESSED as an Admiral – I just wasn’t sure what one looked like.
I don’t get out much ” title=”Wink” />cowgirlMember"Thundersbiggestfan":2blry8m8 wrote:i am thunders biggest supporter and i also play in the nzihl

I’ll be there to scream abuse at the refs, oh and Vince.cowgirlMemberI think they’ll take one each. Mainly coz of the guy in the hat.
cowgirlMemberHmmmm, depends who was reffing LOL ” title=”Cheesy” />
cowgirlMemberThe Stampede also belong to SIHL but apart from the Sopers I’ve never seen anyone outside the Queenstown Club offer to help organise the games or even at the games! Even before the Thunder it was all run inside the club and when the Stampede had home games in Dunedin the DIHA organised and paid for them as far as I know.
cowgirlMember"plod16":3eg6lgok wrote:The cup was closed to entry from any of those nasty Canty teams either because they won it too often or was it that they never played on natural ice, could be a conspiracy theory in there somewhere!!
[/quote:3eg6lgok]Pretty sure it’s just coz Southerners don’t like Canty! No conspiracy there!
cowgirlMember"Chin Strap":smtbv253 wrote:its rigged easy for the North island teams im sure of it, hasnt worked for them though
[/quote:smtbv253]I don’t think it’s as obvious this year. I’m pretty sure previously it’s been set up so it’s a North v South final. I better go hide now I said that out loud!
cowgirlMember"Ryan":3ub7cd5g wrote:"vpatrol":3ub7cd5g wrote:In the case of Thunder, the DIHA gets all the gate receipts just like CIHA here.[/quote:3ub7cd5g]Are you sure about that? The DIHA are not connected with the Thunder so it seems unlikely they would keep any gate receipts.
[/quote:3ub7cd5g]
The Queenstown Club are a similar position, they pay for the games ie. advertising, tent hire/garage hire (changing rooms) etc. If there was any profit on the door it would go to the club not the Stampede. At this stage the club pay the $16,000 a year for the scaffolding (seating) to go in, hence why we charge $20 instead of $15, and still no profit made. The club see this as being a major fundraiser in the future – anyone want to build us a new rink with seating??!!
