ice blacks need at least 6 in my book to be in with a chance. But i am not really a betting man. they have 2 right now in the second period

The final days play has alot riding on it when it comes to the medals.

NZ can finish 2nd with a win over Mexico and Aus giving Serbia a pasting.

Then it comes down to Goal differential, with a strong chance or NZ, BEL, SRB all finishing on 9 points.

    oh I havent counted any chickens yet. <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

hey don’t read this if you want a pick me up for the day.

NZ 0 – 21 Austria.  Hell the Austrians must of been a sight to see in action against our boys. 85 shots on goal vs 13. I hope they are keeping there heads high.

Good luck to them going up against Croatia.

and it only gets harder from here Romania next who won over estonia 8-1.

Will be hoping the romanians take NZ to lightly and get burned.

    OK.

I Just watched the highlights package. And taking into account limitations. I would be very happy with the product that is produced.

I have spent some limited time behind the camera recording senior rugby for the Otago Rugby football union and even with a reduced speed to hockey it was very difficult to keep the action in frame while allowing a wide enough shot to give perspective/position of the play.

It is somthing i guess will get better with time for those behind the camera. Question. was it hockey players behind cameras or camera operators that specialize in sport capture.

I for one would be more than happy to see this level of Hockey broadcast so that i can get to see out of town games and get a good feel for the other teams playing in the NZIHL.

Going back a few yrs I remember seeing national softball broadcast. Now that was covered by only a handfull of cameras. again a minor sport by nz standards and yet they have been world champs. The hockey highlights quality compares evenly to me on the softball converage.

I feel the NZHIL product has improved, we all now need to work to get bums on seats. Once that is accomplished we will have stronger numbers to show sponsors/coporates/backers.

As great as it would be, I think untill solid details are forth comming.

“They have the right to remain silent. Anything they say can and will be used against them in the court of slapshot. they have the right to speak to a Hockey player. If they cannot afford an hockey player, one will be appointed to them.

I think the easest way to resolve this is just to put in to hold the World Champs. This way we do get a True US vs CAN game.
Come on IIHF lets hold it as close to antartica as poss.
where when you say you play hockey people assume we run around astro-turf. Where a check is more commonly found with nerds at highschool and icing is is an art form dieing out with our grandmothers.

Am sure this thread will get nice and long.
I am very interested in this disscussion. As a budding on-ice official I am after as much structered Tuition as available. I am even williing to travel around to get it. As V points out if I am being tutored by an official at a certain level then i will over time grain that level of abbility but it makes it very hard to progress beyound that.

While Reading the IIHF manual backwards and forwards can gain knowledge, it is the quick and decisive application of this that i feel will only come with actuall game time that will improve our refs. It has to be Games that are of a high enough standard/checking to push the Rules of our game and use the Officials to maximum capacity.

Cleaned out the visitors change room after the swarm had been in town. while a complete mess it did give a valuable insight into what makes them tick!
RED BULL Shots, must of been a couple of dozen emptys left laying around.  might of given them the edge on the thunder

Final score 4-1 Swarm. lost for words here.

Penality count looked like it favoured the Swarm. but not sure of the  numbers

This is Biased table towards the thunder winning all games. You are correct in that teams could have more points if they won against the Thunder, but its just not going to happen.

The Thunder have yet to play the away games against the Stampede.

The thunder will pick up all six points available from that match up. the stampede – zero, giving a 6 point split between the teams in the final wash up. the maximums are what the teams could get whilst loosing to the thunder as the Thunder are winning all remaining games.
