[/quote:1wbl8fws]At the moment it seems to be free and there’s no lock on the door. I’m certain that will be changing shortly though. Details will be posted when they become available.

I tried both ice pucks and inline pucks tonight. They both worked fine, albeit the ice pucks aren’t too good for puck handling practice but they’re fine for shooting with. I haven’t tried skating on it yet (inline) but I’ll probably have a crack tomorrow night and see how it goes. It looks like it’ll be grippy enough as is, but once the construction is totally over I volunteer to mop the hell out of it to remove any dust and grime which is stuck to it at the moment.
The surface is slick enough that a few layers of tape should stand up to quite a few slap shots. So as long as you’re careful, your fancy carbon stick should be safe. Personally I’m too lazy to replace my tape so I’ll be sticking an ABS blade on my spare shaft, plus ABS is slipperier on concrete. ABS blades are bullet proof on smooth concrete so should last for yonks, just be careful of those fragile wood and composite blades.
Also, I’m not sure how long that goal of Zanzee’s is going to last up there. I put a dent in it the first time I shot a puck at it! Plus there’s a bunch of other dents in it already. There’s a bunch of goals lying around (6 in total) so even if Zanzee’s one does die we do have replacements. Zanzee’s one is far prettier though, it’s still shiny and red
” title=”Smiley” /> Plus the shooter tutor is really handy – no point practicing shooting a puck into an open net

Ryan,
PS: thanks to Paul, Joe, Hans and Bode for all the work they put into building this thing.

MemberI built one of those! Albeit mine did not have boards, lines or a full-size goal and my zamboni consisted of the occasional bucket of hot water.

Ryan,
EDIT: I’ve filled out the form now too, fingers crossed it works. NHL.com has a Google page rank of 8 which is pretty damn good! So if they do fix it then it may have quite a big impact on our own page ranking.

MemberIck, those things are weird.
I’ve seen heaps of people using them. But they sound weird, look weird and the only benefits I’ve heard anyone who’s used them before say is that you don’t need to sharpen them. Personally I’ll stick to sharpening my skates the old fashioned way.

Memberhaha, nice. I’ll add in here that my RSS reader seems to be goofing up my time spent online hence I yanked the time spent off-line from the stats page. And I can remove the code from the source if I really felt like it, just requires deleting the code

But publishing a news item from one publisher on another publication (website) I’m certain would definitely not be legit.
But I’ll trust Chris when he says it wont matter shit all.
