Won’t the NZIHL use the IIHF rules for such things? I’m pretty sure the IIHF rule book or some other official IIHF thingy has rules on this sort of thing.

Thunder has a better goal differential which I assume is why Kyle placed them higher.

Ohhh, big third period for the Red Devils then I guess.

In other news, some out of shape adults got schooled by the Southern Peewees during a training game this evening.

I got in touch with him about this last night. If I find the time I might drag a team up there to play against them at some point.

They’re not all kids, there’s adults in there as well.

    Sounds like good logic.

Tekapo, Naseby and Alexandra would all be without rinks. Running the NZIHL when their ice is melted puts them at a heck of a disadvantage.

Just because they don’t have games doesn’t mean they don’t have players on the teams, or potential players who want to be on a team in the future.

I thought they won the second game. I remember hearing that Jamiee wasn’t able to play in goal for the first game, but did in the second. So perhaps they just did a lot better when Jaimee played rather than actually winning. That’s not what my fuzzy recollection of events was though.

lol, that would be funny if the unofficial table was used to provide results for the official table

I have medium’ish term solution to this whole issue, but it’ll take me having some spare time or finding some minions willing to build it for me first – plus convincing the powers that be that there is a better way to provide results and stats to the masses.

Sounds like similar results to those between Southern Knights and Canterbury Devils from their pre-season games held a few weeks back. I believe they were beaten in their first game, but came back strong in the second game.

I saw Ric Parry had posted something about this on FaceBook so I assumed it was just something he knocked together in his spare time. I didn’t realise it was professionally produced.

It’s better than channel 9’s attempts though.

Summer hockey would be a disaster. Half the rinks are melted and the players leave town for summer – utterly daft concept.

Awesome! Total dominance for South Island teams

All rinks in NZ are now smaller than Dunedin’s apart from Alexandra which is about 2 cm longer I believe. The Tekapo rink used to be about 40 m longer until they upgraded it a few years ago.

Huh? That’s a 3 – 0 lead to Swarm, not the other way around.
