If I was inflicted with the unpleasantness of children I’d probably rather they did something like Kung Fu or Karate. I recall asking my own mum if I can do it and I think she said no … should have asked my Dad, he’d have been much more responsive ” title=”Cheesy” />
I hear if you actually want to beat the living crap out of someone that Jujitsu is one of the best styles to learn.
imported_RyanMemberAhh, relaxing time ” title=”Smiley” /> The little kiddies must have been sent to bed by their mummy and daddies so can’t sit on the computer being a PITA anymore ” title=”Cheesy” />
Thank you to all of you who don’t post mind numblingly pointless stuff here and actually contribute something to the conversation.
imported_RyanMemberLol, woops! I had to move a bunch of offensive crap that got posted and while doing that I saw Regan’s post and assumed it was a separate topic and so moved the whole thing since his post didn’t make any sense in context without the posts above it, but of course it did make sense since …. meh, can’t be bothered explaining. You get this gist ” title=”Tongue” />
imported_RyanMemberThat’s odd. Sorry, I must have accidentally removed it. It will be back in a few minutes.
imported_RyanMemberPerhaps it could become part of the Kiwi Skate program?
imported_RyanMembermrdunedin will not be bothering us anymore.
imported_RyanMemberLOL
imported_RyanMemberAnyone wanting to avoid fighting should come join the B-grade. Anyone wanting to fight there would probably fall over if they tried so it’s not an issue. I recall being treated as some sort of mobile target by a particular high school team once. Amusingly they tended to take themselves out in the process of trying to body check me ” title=”Cheesy” /> Very funny. Would have been even funnier if they’d tried to swing a punch at me as I’m fairly confident they would have landed on their asses, not due to me retaliating but because they were so unbalanced on their skates!

[/quote:a3gcjcfo]I bet if you polled a cross-section of adult hockey players with the question “Should players receive a ban for starting fights?” the answer would be ‘no’ for well above 50%. Then throw in all the parents, administrators etc. and it would be even higher … based on nothing more than my gut instinct

imported_RyanMemberYep, that sounds about right. I didn’t take too much notice, I just saw Mike swinging punches and Chris somehow became involved. I was surprised the FYC didn’t lose a player from the game either as they were returning the punches to Mike. There were a few other scuffles as well, but I wasn’t paying enough attention to know the details.
I thought you were on the ice at the time. I was up in the corporate box thingy (or whatever that big room is called) above the rink and people were mentioning your name as if you were on the ice at the time.

[/quote:1n0jhk6i]Yeah, a bunch of little childish dicks decided to behave like idiots. Would be nice if a few of them got suspended, but I suspect it won’t happen.
imported_RyanMemberFinal score 2-3 to Superfly. One to David Richards off of a sweet pass from yours truly and Bret scored one from a breakaway (I think).
Superfly are much faster than the Chiefs who it is highly likely we will be playing next week for the finals (unless they can beat the midgets by 20+ points tomorrow). Yay for the wooden spoon round!

[b:3upjrgdp]Week 6: Superfly vs Bullfrogs[/b:3upjrgdp]
Bullfrogs are hot off of a less than usual beating last week and will be fired up to step it up another notch and take down the young Superfly team on Tuesday night. The Bullfrogs are missing power man Jon Kitchen up front, but Keith Dickson will be back this week to add a little more experience to the front line. Superfly will continue their consistent quick paced form with their considerably younger lineup of players.
My pick: Two goals to Bret Dougherty, one via a rebound and another on a rebound. One goal to moi via a breakaway and another to Jaydee Cabral coz she said she wants one before the season finishes. Two goals to the Superfly, not sure who’s going to score them though.
[b:3upjrgdp]Week 6: Midgets vs Chiefs[/b:3upjrgdp]
The midgets are like a pack of small furious Tasmanian devils. Ferocious and out to destroy anything in their path. The Chiefs don’t stand a chance, they almost lost to the Bullfrogs last week and the Midgets are running at full-steam, full-fitness and nothing is going to stop them in their quest to out-skate, out-pass and out-muscle their much larger, older competitors. My pick: 5 – 0 to the Midgets.

"Ryan":3etlm5qh wrote:and I’m going to fire one of my legendary 5 MPH wrist shots up the boards but miss and accidentally sink it in the net … [/quote:3etlm5qh]Almost. I fired one at Brett’s stick but missed by about a metre and ended up hitting skate and getting a deflection straight into the net ” title=”Smiley” />
I also got another goal by weaving between the Chiefs stationary defense and firing it top shelf on Stefan … lesson for the Chiefs, don’t stand there waiting for the offense to reach you as they’ll just skate around you when they get there, either skate backwards or push the wide away from the goal. I ended up just stepping around them and having an easy shot on goal.
Overall the Bullfrogs played much better than in previous games. The Chiefs forwards seem to have a bad habit of crashing in on their defense. There were a few times when there were five Chiefs players only a few metres in front of their own goal line. Bullfrogs had a few head aches with players not subbing on as they weren’t paying enough attention and the forwards were relying on “up the butt” passes rather than cycling or booting it across the ice. Not much point in slowly plodding along looking for a pass between your legs as you aren’t moving fast enough to do anything with it if you do receive the pass and chances are you will miss it because receiving passes from behind a bitch to receive. Plus the defense don’t know where to pass it since the players sticks were usually in front of them.
Bullfrogs player of the game was Kara Ross. I don’t know who got player of the game on the Chiefs.
