Well that makes far more sense! Everyone was saying that you quit the team, which made absolutely no sense to me since you hadn’t mentioned it on Friday night.

Now, what are you implying about seeing some serious puck-stopping action with Neil?
    [/quote:bbd8g7ds]

That Neil stops lots of pucks. I think he had the top stats in the B-grade last time I checked.

Chiefs vs Bullfrogs showdown in the B-grade tonight. Apparently we have the mighty Neil Dudley in the pipes for us (the Bullfrogs) for the rest of the season so we can expect to see some serious puck-stopping action going on.

The Chiefs beat us fairly convincingly last time around, but with Neil in goal and a much improved team now we should have a better shot at giving them a run for their money.

My pick is 4-3 to the Chiefs. Californian import Brett to put two in the net for the Bullfrogs, both on breakaways. Keith Dickson will pick up an errant puck off a rebound and I’m going to fire one of my legendary 5 MPH wrist shots up the boards but miss and accidentally sink it in the net … I tried shooting at the goal last week and it somehow ended up wrapping around the boards (yeah, I missed by about 20 m!) so this time I’m using reverse psychology on the puck.

Sonja Woods will chip one in for the Chiefs after a limp wristed shot from the point bounces off of Neil into the slot, another will scored by German superstar import Rieke Stackman during a heavy tussle in front of the Bullfrogs net, another will be scored by Dave Patchett via a perfectly aimed shot from the high slot and that tall guy whose name I don’t know will muscle his way through the Bullfrogs defense and sink one top shelf.

Don’t you want to win for enjoyment? In which case the current comment about playing for the enjoyment of the game might cover that already.

It’s also a recognition in the club that there will be teams like the Bullfrogs in the B DIHL, who haven’t looked like winning a game so far. Ahem, we were just warming up. We decided to be nice on the other teams for the first half of the season so we didn’t demoralise them too much. We are aiming for total domination during the remainder of the season.

    Thanks Kyle <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

Meh, I find stuff like this is irrelevant anyway. People will do what they want and a code of conduct isn’t going to change anything. Probably why I didn’t read it properly the first time.

Chris is trying to be helpful, he just has a unique way of achieving it <img decoding=” title=”Tongue” />

Yes, Mallory is a considerably better hockey player than you. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Lol @Chris

The point of this was to get feedback. No need to get your panties in a bunch <img decoding=” title=”Tongue” />

Lol, yes, well you would have had the exact opposite opinion to mine.

Chris has a good point, although those maybe good things for people to do, they should be allowed to play hockey for whatever reasons they feel like. And why would you not criticise someone for their mistakes? I do that all the time and it would be pretty annoying if no one is allowed to help other players because of the code of conduct.

Looks like a few of those bits need a serious rewording.

Heh, my Bullfrogs vs Midgets pick was pretty good. Ended up being 1 – 5 to the Midgets. Stefan and Olivia played in goal but didn’t swap ends so Bullfrogs had Stefan in goal for two periods. The Midgets still had too much speed over the Bullfrogs but we did step up a little in some areas in particular the defense. Personally I was a lot happier with my own game. I’m getting more comfortable with using my shoulder (had surgery on it a while ago) and so my poke checking has improved a lot.

Anna Craw brought the media along as it seems they’re creating a short documentary about her hockey playing antics. They interviewed me, although it became quickly apparent that it is more like a documentary about sexism in hockey as every question was relating to gender bias in the sport. I somehow managed to keep my trap mostly shut on the issue (I have strong views on the matter). They told me we can post the video here once it’s ready so you will all get to see.

Second game was interesting to watch. The score was 4 – 0 I think but I have no idea which team was which.

I wonder if my picks for tonights B-grade game will be as accurate as the last one?

Is there not a rule in the IIHF rule book (which the DIHA rule book is based heavily upon) already which states that players aren’t allowed to be intoxicated while playing? I’d have assumed that was covered somewhere in the IIHF rules. I could be wrong though.

The Midgets whipped the Bullfrogs pretty heavily last week (9 – 0 I think), but I’m picking a tighter game this week, more like 1-4. The Bullfrogs know what they need to do to stop those pesky little pint sized speed machines now :p

The Superfly lost to the Chiefs last week, but the Superfly will be back with a vengeance this week to take the win. The Superfly weren’t expecting a bunch of old geezers to give them such a hard time, but they’re wise to the Chiefs tactics now and will stop the Chiefs offense (Ben Wallis) dead in their tracks.

    Any picks for the A-grade?

in reply to: Re: DIHA: Code of Conduct Consultation #14513

Looks good to me. Not sure it will change anything in the slightest, but I guess it’s nice to put stuff down in writing.

    One very minor point:
[quote:1tlt9rcr]Players can have the following expectations:
    1.  Have fun on and off the ice.
    2.  [b:1tlt9rcr]Have qualified coaching[/b:1tlt9rcr] and develop as a player.
    3.  Be able to ask questions and learn more about the game of ice hockey.[/quote:1tlt9rcr]

What happens if a team is missing a coach? The club may be able to provide coaching at the moment but that doesn’t mean it will be able to in the future. And ‘qualified’ is a fairly vague description.
