Stats for the league are now up over at the DIHA site … http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/documents … WEEK-2.pdf

Interestingly it seems that Jaimee Wood is not playing in goal for the Midgets. If that is the case this week then we may see some more goals by the Bullfrogs.

It’s a battle tactic known as “making the opposition feel over confident”. Either that or I think we’re about to get our asses handed to us on a plate by a bunch of ankle biters.

    [size=4:2vfsjai7][b:2vfsjai7]DIHL B-grade picks: Round Three[/b:2vfsjai7][/size:2vfsjai7]

    [b:2vfsjai7]The Chiefs vs Superfly[/b:2vfsjai7]
The Chiefs are a solid team with plenty of experience (ie: lots of old farts on the team). The Superfly are an erratic bunch of hot headed teenagers. This combination is bound to create some sparks and we should see some good competition between the two teams. The big question is whether The Chiefs have enough fitness to keep up with the mega quick Superfly’ers. My pick: Superfly will score three points and The Chiefs one.

    [b:2vfsjai7]Bullfrogs vs Midgets[/b:2vfsjai7]
The Midgets are one of the most organised teams in the league and, despite their age, also one of the most experienced. The Bullfrogs have an eclectic bunch of players from the best in the league down to some of the newest players. The key to the Bullfrogs beating the Midgets will be for them to sort their defense out and stop the Midgets from cutting through the defense on breakaways. Puck possession will also be important as if the Bullfrogs can keep control of it as much as possible, the number of potential goal scoring opportunities will decrease rapidly. The Midgets are looking very strong though and they have a far greater depth of players than the Bullfrogs. My Pick: Bullfrogs 3 Midgets 6. The Midgets won’t be able to hold out against the power forwards on the Bullfrogs team, but the Midgets will also have no trouble slicing through the Bullfrogs defense. Whatever the final result, it is almost guaranteed to be a fairly high score.

Most things are fixed apart from the galleries and the big featured content gallery on the home page. Unless anyone objects, I may need to leave those until later in the week as I’m swamped with work at the moment.

Lol, yeah, BIG miscommunication. Although referring to the “bottom of my blogs” doesn’t exactly help matters :p

    So Blake, is Chris correct?

Maybe, but he mentioned at the bottom of my blogs.

If it’s my forum signature you are referring to, then I don’t get it. Do you want parents to be abusive to referees?

Are you referring to the links to WordPress and PixoPoint? What on earth does that have to do with NZ sport?

Or am I missing a joke somewhere along the line here?

It could only be false democracy if people were deciding what would happen to Jamrock’s avatar. This is a poll about what “should” happen to Jamrock’s avatar not what “will”. I’d have worded the poll differently if I meant otherwise :p

Bullfrogs lost 4 – 0 to the Chiefs.

Bullfrogs were a little stronger than last week. Two of our brand new players didn’t turn up, but two of our more experienced high school aged players did which improved our performance a bit.

The Chiefs were a much weaker team than the Superfly were which made things even easier than last week for us (the Bullfrogs). However the Chiefs had an extra player on their team this week from the A-grade. I’m not sure why there is an extra player being stuck on teams like that, but it did seem to help the Chiefs a lot as Dan Dilkes (the A-grader) was very good at setting his team up and breaking through our defense.

Does anyone know what the result of the Midgets vs Superfly game was?

in reply to: SPLIT: Jamrock’s Avatar #14455

I’ve added a poll to the topic.

It wouldnt be a bad idea kyle to have a game against some of the older midgets and more skilled ones against the juniors, give them a good run!

Are there enough good midgets for that to work? I’d have thought miximg them up would be a better idea to save the midgets getting slaughtered.
