I was contracted to knock something together a quick site for them before their first game last season and the person who started updating it is no longer involved with the Thunder. I also provide their hosting account but am not involved with updating it.
The last post on there was by Aaron (Azzy77) I think. Perhaps he will know more about what is going on with the site.
[b:3bh4bbe9]Random aside:[/b:3bh4bbe9] If anyone out there is wanting cheap web hosting for an NZ based hockey site, let me know as I own a small web hosting company and am happy to provide ridiculously cheap rates for local hockey sites.
imported_RyanMemberYes … http://dunedinthunder.co.nz/
The Southern Stampede one is a lot better though.
imported_RyanMemberThe anonymity issue isn’t quite as important now that the site has been moved. It would be nice if you guys would let us know who you are, but at this stage there is no rule saying you need to let us know. The main problem I see, is that even if we don’t know who you are, we don’t know the names of every hockey fan anyway so it would always be possible to cirumvent the system. Or even worse, would be if someone used another players name to post because they didn’t want to use their own.
It’s a messy setup, but hopefully it will work.

Some adults care about the score, some don’t. I don’t think I cared as an adult or a child … probably why I’ve never won many games ” title=”Tongue” />

What cracks me up the most is when people come on here and try to defend themselves by pretending to be someone else. It doesn’t work, we figure out who you are anyway and you end up looking like a right dick.
imported_RyanMemberRyan Ruddle is playing for the Red Devils? Interesting. I had no idea he was playing on ice these days.

imported_RyanMemberCool, the Snipers. I didn’t realise you played inline hockey. Say hi to John Thomsen for me (I assume he still plays for them).
imported_RyanMemberOf course, feedback is wanted. Bearing in mind that the forum will be moving to a new site within the next month.
imported_RyanMemberThe topic about the coach has not been removed. It was just moved to the members area and since you aren’t a member of the DIHA you can’t see it. The new site won’t have that members section, so you will then be able to see it again.

It’s not deleted.[/quote:2vvj8d8w]Good point to make. Moderators are not able to delete anything, they can just move it to a private forum for the other moderators and administrators to see. That way if mistakes are made by moderators they can be easily rectified and the posts/topics returned back where they came from.
The only ones who can delete anything are administrators (Kyle and myself), but we generally never delete posts unless they are blatant spam. Moderated posts by regular users remain forever more in a private junk forum.
imported_RyanMemberI don’t think the topic will be returning either. It wasn’t particularly constructive and as Vince said, it was predominantly just slagging off individuals.
imported_RyanMemberI didn’t say they aren’t happy, just that things are not as bad as was posted above.
