Note the use of the word ‘apparently’ I am not a medical expert.

BTW, I have some fake boobs for sale if you need some.

Well apparently if it heals right the first time it shouldnt become a recurring injury. so im shooting for that

If it pops out again you will be ruing those words! Shoving it back in the socket yourself is much nicer than sitting for hours while ED people try to ram it back in for you, plus it improves your recovery apparently. Shoulder go back in a lot easier within a few minutes of injury than after you wait to make you way to the ED.

Haha, that was funny as f#@k! I popped my shoulder out, not entirely sure what happened but i know had something to do with Simon Wilson? Its funny coz i pretty much spent all last week calling them pussies then their smallest player dislocates my shoulder! And yes i do feel like a tosser!

Hey, that’s my job! I leave the country for a few weeks and someone takes my place as head shoulder popper outer!

I recommend asking Phil Handock about relocating your shoulder. He showed me what to do a while back and it was a really useful thing to know for the next time I dislocated it.

Yes. It is nice when out of town’ers join in, otherwise things (unsurprisingly) become totally biased to a Dunedin perspective.

Also be aware that opinions of anyone on here are only from individual members. Just because a few loons decide to spout their opinion on certain matters does not mean that is the view of all/most members of our club. Forums by their very nature are biased towards twenty something year old computer nerds, so this isn’t exactly a good cross section of the Dunedin hockey community.

How much fudge do you get for the $5?

Where did you get the photo from? [/quote:um4487sw]

I was wondering how long it would take someone to ask that But no, I have no idea where it is. It was sent to Clive Murphie with a message saying it is of a secret skating spot near Dunedin, then Clive forwarded it to me asking if I knew where it was (which I don’t), hence the question.

It won’t be the Manuherikia (sp?). That river moves too fast to freeze over well enough for skating purposes.

I can’t see the image well enough. Is that ice, or digital trickery?
[/quote:1onww3we]

No, it’s definitely ice.

The photo was apparently taken in 2006. It was also frozen in 2007, but it hasn’t been skatable yet in 2008.

It does look like a rail bridge.

… They look bizaare, I’d be keen to give them a bash but I imagine the novelty would wear off fairly quickly! They don’t look that easy to use either, but atleast you can jump off I spose, they’re kinda like a skateboard in that way ….[/quote:2r14ay84]

Welcome to the forum username whos ‘username’ is username (?).

I was going to dump some YouTube URL’s in here, but YouTube doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. If anyone finds a decent YouTube clip, then just leave the URL for it here and the video will auto-embed itself.

Really can’t think why people were worrying before this point. Seems like a waste of energy to me.[/quote:16qaapdd]

The league has always been solvent before the season starts, I always thought it would be difficult for it not to be. It is more than a little worrying to hear that the situation may have changed this season.

in reply to: DIHL 2008 #6869

No. I was meaning the other changes which were made. I remember the comment in the minutes about a full season.

I wish we had known about the registration thing for casual players – Larry didn’t know much about the casual player fee and I only knew about it from reading the previous seasons registration forms.[/quote:2n860p9g]

I see you decided to charge $15/game … http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/documents … tice08.pdf

Is there something in particular you need to know? Or is it sorted now?

Or perhaps you were confused if the players needed to be DIHA registered to play casually. I’m not sure about that, but it’s probably outlined somewhere in the rule book (or is an omission which needs to be added).

EDIT: It seems they do need to be registered. I missed that comment by Kyle above.

Casual player doesn’t mean ‘unregistered’, it means not on the roster of any team. Casual players should all be club members, no one should be playing in the DIHL if they’re not a member.[/quote:2n860p9g]

Perhaps I forgot or was never specifically told that I had to keep to what you and I agreed too.[/quote:29q26ghs]

You didn’t. I just meant that what Larry did had nothing to do with what you did so there was nothing to cave into. You should of course request changes, but I’m assuming that was done, albeit it was never in the committee meeting minutes.

"Kyle":29q26ghs wrote:
Larry brought it to a committee meeting and told the committee what was being done.[/quote:29q26ghs]

From what Aaron said above, that hadn’t happened. But I know little since I’m not on the committee anymore. There was nothing was in the minutes about the changes apart some extremely broad comments.

I did push the tri DIHL thing and Ryan’s social Winter league thing, and in my opinion I had compelling reasons for it, but Larry couldn’t see past his full season-one team only thing. He had compelling reasons for his idea too.[/quote:2wrli6t0]

You didn’t have anything to cave into. You had already told the committee you wanted to run it the original way so Larry could do whatever he wanted, the A-grade had no effect on what you did whatsoever, that was covered in the proposal we put forward last year.

Don’t stress about any of this, crap happens. In future you do need to let everyone know what’s going on though, I assumed the committee members were all aware of what was going on and why the plan had changed so drastically, but from Aaron and Kyle’s comments (who are on the committee) it seems otherwise.
