Yep and she’s turning 20 something tomorrow too, so remember to wish her a happy birthday at the DIHL.

    Cool, another hockey website <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

I noticed there was nothing on it yesterday so glossed over it in the last news item.

    Yep, I can do that.

I tried one of these today. It was as slippery as heck, but brand new though and they apparently get grippier once they’re broken in. Seems like it would work okay. I could hockey stop on it, although I’d be a bit dubious about doing it at speed – I think you’d tend to wipe out as you would slide quite a long way.

The one I tried was an Ez-glide one which is apparently different to the one in Christchurch.

Actually, the Bulls played tonight, so I won’t be there tomorrow night at all sorry.

Not likely, I don’t think I’ll be going near Mosgiel any time soon.

I am considering going to watch the Bulls play on Wednesday night (if the game is at a reasonable time), so if you are at the rink I could take them along for you to have a look at.

I wonder if we should be really organised and get someone to tape it, and then bring it in and watch it in the social room or something.

Good idea. Anyone got access to a projector?

Perhaps the history or law departments could spare one? hint hint.

EDIT: Perhaps a pub would be a better idea?

With all that bitching about the “red helmet guy” it’s no wonder other clubs laugh at our website. Seriously, it’s a game that happened last week. Let it go.

    LOL.

    BUMP!

To follow on from my post from Oct 14 2005 …

There was a party in Christchurch last night where they brought in some of this synthetic ice. Apparently it was extremely hard work to skate on and blunted peoples skates within 10 mins and after that it was difficult to stop on it.

I’m not sure if it was exactly the same type as the Ez-Glide, but I can’t imagine there’s much more to it than some super dense plastic with some silicon grease sprayed on top, so I assume it’ll behave the same.

I don’t play that grade so I don;t know… but I would assume that if you were turning up to the SNC practises someone could surely tell you what is going on….

And isn’t the schedule posted on this website.. I got a copy sent to me by email as well and I don’t even play in this grade….
    [/quote:392xiwdv]

Just because there may be practices on doesn’t mean anyone there knows what’s going on though. And the league schedule isn’t much use as by that time the games have already started it’s too late.

in reply to: Re: Important SNC SIHL up and coming round #8475

If any of you out there are interested in playing SNC grade, it is probably a good idea to dump posts in here from time to time outlining that you are interested in playing. If you don’t, and are ‘out of the loop’, you will probably never get to play.

Reading the first post in this topic is a good demonstration of how difficult the communication lines are. Mark (the Beasts team manager) had to make a public announcement just to find out who the other Dunedin team manager was … if one of the team managers doesn’t know what’s going on, how the heck are the players supposed to find out?

PS: This only applies to the SNC teams, I haven’t been involved with the other grades.

If you want to get on a team, you normally need to jump up and down and wave your arms around a bit for anyone to notice.
