Eek, I feel his pain! Literally!

My Orthopedic surgeon recommended yesterday that I have surgery to repair my shoulder which was dislocated when someone checked me into the boards at the Sunday social game a year or so ago. My shoulder is now munted <img decoding=” title=”Sad” />

Hopefully Seen in Dunedin don’t mind me borrowing their image.

I’d like to add a special “Thunder” page here to the DIHA site, but I don’t have enough information for that to be viable just yet.

I’m happy to code something for a “Thunder” specific site and stick into a CMS. But I don’t have the time to design it.

If someone can supply a total mockup of exactly what it needs to look like and exactly what it should be able to do, I could patch something together in an evening. I wouldn’t suggest anything too exotic feature wise, it’s just a team site, so a simple set of pages, including player profile pages would be best IMO.

I’d rather not host it myself as I’m taking on a few too many freebie sites at the moment and my host will pack a wobbly if I start using too much resources.
Chris, is there any chance you could handle the traffic for it? I doubt it would get a huge amount and I’m sure no one would mind you getting a link in the footer to your blog in return.

Someone would need to pay for a domain name too. The cost for a .co.nz domain name is ~$30 and a .com is around $15. See http://godaddy.com/ for more info on domain names.

PS: In case anyone doesn’t know what a CMS is … CMS stands for Content Management System. They allow users to log in and edit the pages directly via a (supposedly) idiot proof admin panel. So you guys could edit it yourself without relying on me or anyone else to do the editing for you even if you don’t know anything about web design.

Dunedin Green/Thunder are looking pretty solid

They look like tough competition for the other teams.

I’ve posted a news item about your wallpaper …  http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/thunder-wallpaper/

So is this the official colour scheme for the team?

The stock in the SK8 warehouse often doesn’t match what they have on their site, so don’t assume they don’t have your size just coz it’s not on their site. You could try phoning or emailing them to confirm perhaps.

Kara, is that file Chris has posted the official rego form. I’m still waiting to hear back from you if you want me to post the one you sent me the other day or not.

On advice from Chris, I added a few more file formats to the list:

    doc,gif,jpg,mpg,pdf,png,txt,zip,avi,flv,mov,wmv,bmp,wma,xls, odt, ods, odp,ppt,rar,tar.gz,ofx,xlsx

in reply to: DIHL 2008 #6819

You can now upload XLS files.

Here’s a list of all of the files which you can upload, let me know if you would like any others added … doc, gif, jpg, mpg, pdf, png, txt, zip, avi, flv, mov, wmv, bmp, wma, xls, odt, ods, odp,ppt

I’ve already passed that on I think.

Probably because you can embed nasty stuff inside them. I’ll go see if that can be changed easily though as it would be a handy feature to have.

My signature bothers you that much? If so, I will think of a new one to keep your eyes happy.

Nothing has changed on the home page apart from the content.

What browser/operating system are you using? It sounds like you’ve set your font size too low. Some browsers do this on a per page basis, so if you’ve accidentally decreased it for the home page, that would explain your problem.
