I don’t care about the guy himself BUT that was a charity function five years ago and he was told he was trading on trademarks, I understand that you can not apply the rule to all rabbit heads his was not the same as playboy and  he called the BALL the playboy ball, Winston Peters also attended the lawyer that he is??
Craig Douglas does push the boundaires to the limit.

I think that you should know the facts. Craig did not have a lot to do with the team stuff he put up the money as a promoter, set up the venues maybe you should bitch to the team?
You can also say you are quote Canada V USA they did NOT claim it was the NATIONAL TEAM that is very different from the above.(do your legal research)
Show me a business man anywhere in the world who is clean Chris lives in a bubble, also READ THE FINE PRINT.Claims you are stating are way of the beam.
The pea-knuckle attitude here is ONLY in Dunedin that was NOTED by the promoters so they may not come to Dunedin Next time due to all the NEG here.
Which they did not get in Christchurch nor Auckland, that is directly from Craig Douglas himself
He is also getting an ice rink for Wellington and Hamilton so instead of bitching lets get up there and help expand our sport.
Also my ex wife is responsible for government grants for sports. If we have a high profile we get the money ie the squeeky wheel gets the oil.
I sat beside John KEY for lunch a few months ago that they did NOT even know ice hockey was played in NZ. Just because you lot think everyone knows that is not the case, We live under a rock or in a bubble.
so once more THIS HAS LIFTED OUR PROFILE.
And yes Chris he the promoter has gone home with a very big profit, now others may get in on the act and you will get your clean business men
    HA HA,.
    I’M out of here

Yeap and all people who make business or are in business are scum too,…. just remember the power will go off without money to pay. The hockey gave the rink money to keep the ice there for us, without that the rink could close. THAT IS A REAL PROBLEM, ask Neil

Next Yes Craig is a rodeo cowboy that is how he started you need balls to borrow 0ne million dollars which he did to bring the ice hockey here, The first game sold out 9,000 people and at 200 dollars a seat we got off cheap at 65.00/68.00.
And yes he broke even on the first game all the rest was his,Christchurch and Dunedin,
Shit it is like winning GOOD ON HIM .He had the balls and insight, took the risk it paid off.
Without people like him nothing would happen,. the world goes round on money and business so good on all you people who have NON FOR PROFIT government or University jobs.

Hi all you guys, if you want to know anything about the CANADA USA game you should have asked me I work for Craig, and along with all the game information I have been pissed off with the attitude and miss informed crap I have read and heard around our members and so called supporters.
Straight up Craig Douglas has done more for NZ ice hockey in a week than the bunch of wosses that have their heads stuck up their asses, get real this exposure will get people to see our sport instead of living under a rock.
WHO cares a flying fu.k what they did, it was proffesional wonderful ice hockey skills and a great thing for not only Dunedin but NZ in general so wake up…

Along with the other guy my car was damaged too.
We need to look out for any people hovering about the car parks.
BE AWARE THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE GROUP in the car park damaging parked cars

Take your head out of the sand.
FACT it was not made clear that teams were being made up the only thing made clear was the date of the competition.
Fact it was way better in the last years, why change the format ,also it show by the lack of outside Dunedin teams this year .
This should and could be better, with Queenstown and other areas playing and supporting the competition.
You guys are living in a bubble.I did asak about and got no where that,s a fact.

Right on Rhys we could not find out what was happening.
It also used to be held at EASTER but that was changed because everyone was away all the uni students went home  But it is all very well saying about just grab a few guys /girls and make a team.
Simple as just jumping out a plane without a parachute
Maybe next time  PUT a notice on the notice board and fill your name out under the team you think wants you. aT LEAST we all get a chance to play in the competition.

    Easton cup.
Personally I expressed an interest to play  in it months ago.
    Ask about with NO RESULT.
I have played the three first years including the very first one  and enjoyed the competition.
Seems now it is not for casuals to make up a team but the team is already made up with OUT our knowledge so a lot of people including me miss out this…… SUCKS.
WE ALL WANTED TO PLAY , The competition could be really something instead of a secret.

Hay  guys at worst we can make our own ice berg as they did in Wellington a few months ago I can suppy some super-glide and we can do it ourselves eh?
Polyfoam one and hard top superglide synthetic ice suface.
As for the comments sbove, yeah that is right there is one at that size broke of the shelf one month ago, my personal view is there are more going passed than NIWA knows about I think it is a new thing to know, what with the new advances in weather collection data but I understand that ice bergs floating around are more common than the powers to be think.
They only register ones that are big so many smaller ones don’t get a look in. THEY NAME AND NUMBER THEM ALL over a certain size.
the last ones were A43a and B15a
The surface is good I have pictures Dave Cull my old flat mate has made a book it includes John sharing the sheep I have taked to them all the surface on the last one was ok to skate on.
It is very noisey as bits break off all the time so going near the edge is not on the agenda. Roll over is the biggest problem but that happens but not every day according to my data.
Still it is something that may or may not happen I just thought it is an idea to explore and have ready if it comes again.

    To answer ALL your questions.
Firstly Dave Cull has a book out on ice bergs photoes from Stephen Jaquiery
I have talked to both the pilot and John Perriam, they all say this.
The ice berg does NOT roll like a ship NOR GO UP AND DOWN it is very big and stable in the water as per wave.
The surface is like glass and you can skate on it. it is NOT pressed snow nor bubble surface IT IS VERY SMOOTH AND FLAT.
I have many photoes to show you if you want.
Some ice bergs are NOT flat but many are as flat as a billard table the last ones some were.It depends on which place they come from and what wind action has done to them. our Dunedin ones were mostly FLAT TOP.
NETS; I will make these will be PVC and very light to take and fold down as space on the copter is limited also weight too.
The size of the ice berg some are klms long but the ones here were several hundred meters long.THE ONE WHICH HAS JUST BROKEN OFF LAST MONTH IS 96  klms long and 37 klms wide.
THE PUCK just like playing on Manoburn Dam some do go over the side but
not a problem for us and the game we can take a few pucks.
    The game is only 5 mins long as we will be shit-ing our pants most of the time and the reason is;
All the time noises like thunder and cracking sound this happens many who visited the ice berg did not know this but bits are falling off ALL THE TIME so
    that is par for coarse.
THE REAL DANGER IS ROLL OVER.
the bottom through melting makes the bottom light and they roll over as Ryans pics.
this happens not every day once in a while the thing is they are not sure when
so it is the real risk.
If this happens not amount of gear will protect you as thousands of tons and
very cold water greets you. IT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET with people on it.
Hundreds of people visited the last ice bergs and many landed on them. ALL SAID THEY WILL REMEMBER IT FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES and craped their
pants so thats where the smell is.
The smell It was a play on miss spelling Eion Edgar’s name.
JAPAN I lived their 5 years in the 70,s speak the lingo so I will come too any time it is my favourite country and I know people over their very high up in the news paper business so we can all be on TV there too crapped pants and all.
