Great way to promote the game. I thought the final had been scheduled for the Saturday 5th since the start of the season?
Seems crazy but hey cool way to promote a game that has a high profile at present from the winter games coverage, then play the final of the top level of New Zealand Ice Hockey on a day that no-one will give a sh*t about turning up for.
If the game can’t be played on the day it was sceduled at the top teams rink then they should have to give up home ice advantage.
Hope they have allowed enough time to finish the game, surely if they have to play ‘run time’ this would be a complete mockery of the whole season.kelf6966MemberThe game is North Island vs South Island ‘Top’ New Zealand players
– Move on!Nice to finally meet you Vince ” title=”Smiley” />

Think this is where the problem is

Seriously – Only from a Red Devils player, it seems any game that you guys lose is because you are not taking it seriously – did you not take the last two years finals seriously or did you guys just peak too soon.
kelf6966MemberI think it’s great to have a all star New Zealand Line Up game – Even if they did allow imports Vince I don’t think you would have made the cut for the South Island Team this year as both Justin & Stevo finished ahead of you!
They don’t allow the New Zealand players to play in the State of Origin in Aussie
so in the New Zealand Skate of Origin it should be the same.kelf6966MemberFinal score 5 – 2 to Stampede
One hell of a game, some great play again from both teams, so big hits and some of the best fighting i have seen in the nzihl – crowd loved it
Bit disappointing not to see eadan on form, and not a good look when the golden child of the NZIHL feels the need to verbally have a go at a member of the crowd at the end of the first period – must have been rattled.
Only difference being the goalie for Canterbury in the first period who let in 4 goals
and was pulled for the remainder of the game. Will be a great one next weekend
kelf6966MemberP.S. Vince warmed up really well ” title=”Grin” />
kelf6966MemberFinal 5 – 3 to Devils, looks like another final in Christchurch, not that it’s a bad thing going by history.
It was a great game, with a few stupid penalities costing the Stampede.
Very entertaining and fast ice hockey from both teams and some good niggle and some damn big hits.Reffing was good and pretty bloody fair, wore orange arm bands tonight so we couldn’t tell where he came from which was cute, that colour looks good on him – he could do to get the hell out of the way though.
Looking forward to tomorrow night!
kelf6966MemberWill be a great couple of games,
The Stampede line of Speirs, Lee and Glass seemed to have a number over the aussies
in the weekend!I go Stampede 2 – 0
kelf6966MemberP1 WAA 0 – BSW 5

P3 WAA 1 – BSW 0Final WAA 2 – BSW 7

[/quote:3b13g1pr]Just for your information over 1/2 million people listern to The Rock Nationally per week
so is by far the biggest station to be advertising on.What about the people who don’t have a radio or read the paper or watch TV or have the internet???? I suggest getting out there knocking door to door.
Seems like there was a decent crowd there last night – for those who didn’t know it was like on SKY 110 Cue channel
kelf6966MemberGames are being advertised on the Rock and B Sport at a National Level
kelf6966MemberSee you there
kelf6966Member"vpatrol":w8qk5rfz wrote:42 for and 142 against. That’s like losing each game by a score of 3.4 to 1 (if that’s possible). In that light, its not too bad. They were either competitive or blown out.
[/quote:w8qk5rfz]Come on guys even finishing a cricket season 100 runs/goals whatever down it is pretty bad.
That said, they showed signs of what I would hope them to be in the future and that is at least competitive.Good thing the Volts did well this year, Otago sport seem to be going through a bit of a drought.
kelf6966MemberYip they played like crap for 2 years – coach, rebuilding, blah, blah and now have got it together.
Should be a great weekend, you coming down?
