MemberYes thats right 10 August 2008 at the Dunedin Ice Arena, surely the blackest day in the Red Devils History.
In saying that there have been a few:)
Vince would have been wearing a Thunder Uniform that day – a great victory

[/quote:iozoefyc]Big call bro, a few peoples comments does not mean the whole team and there supporters think you are crap, and sadly for us your stats also prove otherwise.
One person does not make a team, I have the greatest respect for any player in the NZIHL, and as for being a goalie you guys must be nuts to sit there and have pucks smacked at you, must have taken some big hits early on to become a goalie.

If I was a ref, I can’t imagine being very sympathetic to a team who accused me of cheating. Not the best strategy and frankly deserving of another penalty (which he didn’t get). Regardless, we have the refs we have, won’t change this year. Move on. The senior guys on stampede have I’m sure.
[/quote:1b1t6d0u]Who accused the ref of cheating while the game was on?? That’s just Dumb, I know words were said after the game but that is sport.
Any questioning of the ref on the ice except by the Captain or Assistants should not be acceptable and dealt with quickly, this bloody game goes on too long as it is!kelf6966

[/quote:2wzdr0kj]I think you will find that the Stampede do not take any game lightly, and rightly so
Thunder are no easy beats, and the coaching staff will not let the boys go in thinking that way.
We do not want to be the 3rd team to lose to the Thunder!Who was the first team to lose to the Thunder

MemberI would love to be a ref especially if I could change the arm bands to Yellow with a nice blue trim, but as Plod stated I would need to learn to skate!
Even if I started now – how long does anyone expect me to be at a level where I could ref a game in the NZIHL with the players having faith in me to make fair calls?
I think if we can all wait till 2015 when I feel confident to skate out and be the Queenstown Ref then let’s go, someone tell me where to sign.
We had an aussie ref last season, not saying he was any better or more experienced than our guys but was good to see, is there anyway we can do some sort of exchange programme with the AIHL???

[/quote:3ucob10d]No surpises there you didn’t see 2 pucks in the first, 1 in the 2nd and 1 in the third either

[/quote:1u749ibj]Should have been the same game you were watching plod! – obviously yellow jerseys are easier to see than red ones, might need to have a look at the lights at Alpine Ice.

MemberUm maybe he can’t be stopped – nothing a 4 by 2 wouldn’t fix
kelf6966
MemberFinal 7 – 4 to Devils, Stampede ended up with 5 in the Bin
???

MemberThat sounded worse than expected – I just don’t know what you look like!

MemberView was Great, another 2 points! Where were you on the bench or not dressed?
kelf6966
MemberSurpose it depends which team you support!
kelf6966
MemberYeah, from I what I have heard the Stampede had to dig pretty deep in the last 10minutes as the Ref was trying his hardest to let the Devils in!!!
I always wondered what the Black and Red arm bands meant, now I know!

MemberPoint is still the same if you change the math!

MemberI also can’t seeing any TV network in NZ allowing more 3 hours to a game of Ice Hockey
Does the game not follow the following scedule:15 minutes for Warm Up
15 minutes for a Team talk or what ever happens in this time
20 minutes for 1st Period
15 minutes for Groom
20 minutes for 2nd Period
15 minutes for Groom
20 minutes for 3rd Period
End of GameThat’s 2 hours, and allowing 1 hour for stoppages should be enough time.
The only hold I have seen is the Refs making calls and having 15 minutes discussing on ice to sort them out! – While noone watch has a clue what is going on!
It’s simple the ref’s call is it, if you argue with a ref in anyother game you are gone
This should speed things up. -
