There is metal netting that we have over the windows of the rink, these are located directly behind the team benches.
I know we have to prepare game reports from our home games, which we use for local press releases for local media, these are in turm to be posted on the nzihl website, but for some reason nothing has been posted from the Swarm – Stampede games or any photos?
kelf6966Member10 – 0!
First Period Stampede scored 4 Goals – Some big hits being made by both teams
and some stupid penalties given away by the Thunder.Second Period was all Rick Parry’s hugh amounts of shots and only let one through
Sadly it saw the worst piece of “Coaching” behaviour i have ever seen.
A high shot on a Thunder player was missed by the ref and linesmen, it happens.
But to see the Thunder Coach begin to try and pull the netting off the window
behind their bench was to say the least disgusting.
You could possibly imagine a player who was fierd up doing something like that but a “Coach”?
Not acceptable in any sport to a player let alone a member of the Management vandalising private property.Anyway I have no doubt there will be more posted on this.
Back to the game, the third period saw the Stampede score another 5 goals.
Game report will be posted on NZIHL.com asap, would be nice to see a game report and photos from the Stampede games against the Swarm, and report on Thunder vs Devils!!!
kelf6966MemberNot sure, I hope not would be a really sad day if that sort of thing started to happen.
Still good to make jokes about!kelf6966MemberWhat no pole for this weekends games?
Let me start one:Saturday Night – Stampede 7 – 1 Thunder
Sunday Afternoon – Stampede 10 – 2 ThunderI think Saturday will be hard fought game, but Crash Bash and Hope will win the day,
Sunday a different story, as if the Thunder get locked in their changing room all night in Queenstown it could be pretty hard to get themselves thawed out before the Sunday game.kelf6966MemberHere is the official quote from the ODT on the 1st April 2009.
“Ice hockey in New Zealand is played like rugby on ice,” he told the Otago Daily Times yesterday.
“It should be played like chess.
“The game should be more strategic than physical. Every move should be planned and the players should be thinking two steps ahead when a call is made.”
The rugby philosophy is ingrained in New Zealand ice hockey teams and they tend to play a more crash, bash and hope style of game.
“The players have potential here,” van Poucke said.
“My job is to educate the Dunedin Thunder players into a new way to play the game.”
Will be interesting to see which style comes out on top in the NZIHL.
Current scoresCrash, Bash and Hope 4 – Chess Hockey 0
kelf6966MemberOuch!!!!
Did the Thunder play badly or are the Devils looking sharp?
