And… given the billion or so web pages that probably use the word ‘click’ in the context of ‘click here’, what led someone here when searching for it, rather than one of the other 999 million sites?
Interesting that people have obviously come to the site a fair bit to try and find people.
KyleMemberWell, I suspect they have their own way of telling people when practises are and aren’t on. Like saying at the end of one practise ‘hey, practises are finished now guys’.
But no, none of those teams are operating at all anymore, and won’t be until February March I’m guessing. Peewees will probably be our lead-off hitter, Larry’s keen to get things going early as possible.
KyleMemberI can’t imagine there’s going to be many people at beginners, I don’t know if Joyce has a very good email list.
KyleMemberAnd Slap Shot 2 is on TV tonight, tV3, 10:55.
I presume this is the original slap shot II movie, which are pretty B grade, but which are _kinda_ about ice hockey. And fighting. More on the fighting really. Entertaining to watch.
They redid the first one recently, and it didn’t have the same B grade quality feel, and was just bad.
KyleMemberYou didn’t want to wait until the Southern Region was actually… y’know, running?
That might actually draw some punters in after all.

I have been to almost every site with videos and nothing comes close, there are weekly highlights posted, about 5-10mins long each, and it will most definately keep u up to date with action round the league, and even some elite leagues like SM-Liiga etc.[/quote:tyr1slxj]OK, Stefan signed me up for this and it looks pretty good. There’s downloads of entire games on torrent (looks like about 1GB a game, so guess you have to have really good data caps, but still), highlights, links to youtube.
I can recommend another person after signing up, so if anyone else wants in, let me know.

KyleMemberlast game for the year last night, and a little short on subs (sk8 had 1, jets had two), and jets took it 6-1. Simon Christos got all the goals for the Jets, I got the solitary goal for sk8, off the upright and the goalie’s back apparently.
The summer league has been cancelled for the rest of summer, due to lack of support. So the only hockey to look forward to is the Sunday game when it restarts mid-January.
KyleMemberYeah, it’s not bad. A bit ‘bitsy’ – I was kinda hoping there would be a half hour show every night which I could find, but I guess that’d be too much.
I wouldn’t bother hosting them yourself, youtube does it so well, and if you hosted it yourself someone outside might link to it and say it’s a good place to go because there’s no adverts, and suddenly a thousand people might mess your bandwidth to crap.
KyleMemberHoly crap that penalty shot at the beginning of the first ‘plays of the week’ video is sweet. You could just see the goalie stand up thinking ‘what the fuck happened there?’.
KyleMemberSK8 stunningly pulled a draw out of the jaws of victory last night, going from 4-1 up with a 7:30 period to go, to 4-4 at the end of the game.
Shocking last shift which let in two goals, with Duncan and Richard Sykes sitting on the bench. Simon Christos certainly has found his range in those top corners.
On the positive side, we gave the goalie a shutout for our 22.30 minutes of game time, all goals against us went through the boards.
KyleMemberRyan on the news you’ve got last night of the dihl for the year. There’s still two more Wednesday nights before Xmas.
KyleMemberLast night was a bit of a hammering. No Matt Newton or Stu McLennan for SK8 this week, so we copped it pretty good. It was 5-1 or 6-1 to jets. Simon got most of their goals, though I know Zanzee got one, and I picked up SK8’s solitary goal off a rebound.
I don’t think anyone got it in the top corner last night. All the goals were scored at one end, on Aaron.
Apparently this skills thing on Saturday… figure skaters will learn hockey stuff from hockey players, and hockey players will learn figure skating from figure skaters. And there might be some food as well.
KyleMemberPhil is organising a skills competition for senior players this Saturday, 7:30 I believe.
It’ll be speed skating, shooting, passing.
If it’s successful he’ll run it again next year.
KyleMemberKyle was in the show.
But only unintentionally when I wasn’t fast enough getting props off the stage. And at the end when I skated behind the dog and sleigh.
It looked like fun though, I might sign up for next year.
KyleMemberUmm, remember how in July or so my skate was busted and I was wearing one of the DIHA skates for a while. I kept on taking it in, getting the back two inside rivets on my right skate done. And then after 20 minutes of hockey they’d bust again, and I’d be back into the SK8 shop once more, and they’d rivet it again.
Anyway, eventually Nick suggested that I send the skate up to Darrin in Chch. He did a great deal for me and bunged in these ‘big boy’ rivets which held it ever since.
Well about a week ago those went. And on pulling out the liner, there’s not very much base of the skate left to rivet into. They don’t think they can do it. The rivets didn’t break, they’re just popping out.
I’ll take a look around and see if anyone else can fix them, as with Christmas coming there’s no way for me to afford new skates right now. But yeah, bum.
