no that was my pre-game prediction. Which was clearly wrong. Ignore that, the stats I mean on the pdf stats sheet.

John McGlashan vs Bullfrogs (4 – 3 to the ‘frogs)

A perfect pick on the score, that’s not bad. Still no goal for Matthews, and the whole wearing a mouthguard thing – I couldn’t yell at people, or breath properly! How do people wear them? Sam Smith gets a hat trick in the first period, and then helps out Pete Sandford with the winning goal. JMs push hard near the end, but Bullfrogs hold out to stick at the top of the table with a guaranteed semi now. If only they could sort out the offside rule.

    Ducks vs SK8 (4 – 2 to the ducks)

Nope, Ducks were home and away with this one, with SK8 just unable to get it past big Toby Schuck in goal, and Daniel Kinraid not having his top night between the uprights for SK8. 8 – 1 in the final score, and SK8’s frustrating season of having shots, but just not converting, continues.

Beasts vs Kings (4 – 2 to Beasts)

Interesting game this. Antony Blackett subs into goal for the Kings, and with Damien Watson netting three, and three other players scoring, Kings get a first win. Nick Metzger has a rough night between the posts, and Beasts players are only to get a couple of goals. First blood for Kings, and they’ll be mighty glad of it no doubt.

Sharks vs Bulls (4 – 3 to Bulls)

A close game, but I’ve called it the wrong way. Sharks win 5-4, Simon Christos and Bob Bell both getting hat tricks for their respective teams, Cory McDonald continuing his fine form with a couple of goals making the difference. Bulls languishing on the bottom of the table, on one point, won’t be happy.

(There’s still some problems with the stats Ryan. page 7 for example, the score against the beasts isn’t right – we won that game. The points after round five is also wrong. We’ve won 4, drawn 1.

I’m also not sure what the scoresheet says, but page 6, there’s no way we only put 10 shots on Tony, and no way Rhys had 37 shots – that stat might be the wrong way around? The other team pages seem to have similar errors – Bulls some of the scores, and the points are wrong.)

Tuesdays are a bad night for Martell. I did see her at the Easton Cup though and she’s dead keen to start playing again.

Cool. Maybe if the split dihl plays on two different nights one will work better for her.

Ryan, can we remove any references to people still joining the DIHL? I don’t think we want to advertise that any more, as I think we should turn people away from now on.

    What happened with Martell btw?

I agree – I don’t have any problem with adding just about anyone to this forum, as long as they treat it with a little bit of respect. I guess the determining factor as to whether they have access to it, is they’re either doing some useful work for the dihl or some other part of dunedin ice hockey, or they have some useful advice to offer.

Btw Ryan, can you email me those rules that you’ve been working on? I’ll give them a once over with my red pen.

    Cheers,
    Kyle
