I already made my picks for the final, though I suspect I was wrong and we might be looking at a swarm devils final. Thunder and Stampede battle out for third.
And I think Swarm will win it, Devils will choke.
I think it’s a sign of the social element of the tournament dominating the hockey. It’ll mean that the two teams in the final will play four games on the Saturday, given that you’re only allowed to play 10+1 each game, I can’t imagine the hockey is going to be very high quality come Saturday night, particularly since one of the teams is going to have a 30 minute break between their semi final and the final.
I guess if that’s what people are there for, I understand work is being done to make Saturday night a big night.
The pool splits don’t make sense to me. Should have the Queenstown and Dunedin teams in different pools.

Sadly interviewed by two people who didn’t know anything about ice hockey, nor did they seem to be very well briefed about the interview. Ian Smith covered OK.
Recent hearings: Jordan Challis has got a 5 game ban for splitting. Robbie Chamberlain got three games for high sticking.
You put a camera under the ice and didn’t take the opportunity to do some puck handling drills that we could see from the other side? C’mon!
