Nope, definitely 8:
KyleMemberBig 8 minutes of game time though.
KyleMemberReasonably good game in Dunedin. Thunder didn’t look very good in the first, but came out firing properly in the 2nd and 3rd. Stampede shot better than Thunder I thought – too many pucks firing into Aston’s ready pads.

[/quote:280vcpbf]Focusing more on stopping the pucks going into the net you reckon Aaron? Interesting theory…
KyleMemberIf Canterbury don’t make it – either through Stampede taking 6 points off Thunder, or them losing some points to Admirals, they’re going to look back on a disasterous weekend in Queenstown – zero points, several players banned – as the moment where their season died.
If Stampede miss out, they’re going to look back to a slow start I suspect, and maybe a home game vs Thunder that they’ll feel they should have got.
KyleMemberMy 2010 peewee team was pretty good, but the 2009 batch would so take out this competition. Little thugs they were, no mercy.
KyleMemberThis feels like a forum topic that is well finished.
I’m glad it’s over, it wasn’t a disaster, and there’s possibly some positive effects for ice hockey in terms of people being interested in watching and playing the sport. It’s been a little divisive amongst the ice hockey community and I really don’t think the conversation needs to go onto further – better to go back to the NZIHL topic, the Winter Games, the Skate of Origin, the World U20 champs – all the things that we do to promote the sport.
KyleMemberPaul Roth was in the team USA bench. How much coaching he did…
KyleMemberHeh, he keeps tweeting to dunicehockey, which is a feed that doesn’t follow anyone, and never would read it anyway.
KyleMemberSouthern U16s won today’s game 9-6 after being down 6-5 end of the 2nd. Pretty good game apparently.

Canada won game 2 last night apparently.
KyleMemberIn the Junior Elites, Southern beat Canterbury 12-2 in Christchurch yesterday. 116 penalty minutes – couple of kids kicked out of the game.
KyleMemberGunther I think.
Slapshot productions also tweets which is useful for tracking game results that he’s at.
KyleMemberStampede beat Admirals 6-1. Swarm beat Thunder 6-5. Guaranteed final in Auckland, just waiting now to see if it’s Devils or Stampede playing them.

I had hoped for the might of Australia to show up!
It just makes beating them better.
[/quote:2yyaz9s2]Australia are struggling to send a quality Australian team, as we’d consider it. They’ll be including a number of imports, possibly other development players. Timing doesn’t work for them at all.
How much weaker it will be than the Australian team that played at world champs – difficult to tell. Some of the imports will no doubt have been good enough to make the Australian team if they were eligible.
