I’ve split my series. Think Swarm will know they need to get up for one game and squeeze through, and then fall over in the second by a few goals.

And even then, when you know you can skate, you still fall over in front of a couple of hundred people when skating back to the blue line.

I struggle to believe that players and supporters from one team or the other don’t have an eye patch on. Everyone has a bias and sees the game a certain way. I’d take the claims a lot more seriously if they were made by a neutral person, with refereeing experience.

Southern teams can get Peter Haxell or another Auckland referee down here if they’re willing to pay for the extra costs (and he’s not already doing games). Thunder did this last year for its final two games against Red Devils. New Zealand is short of referees that can do this level of game, and I can’t imagine players accusing the referees of being biased helps keep those that are there, in the game.

Neutral referees will never happen however until there are sufficient referees at the right level in all three regions, and teams are willing to pay the additional expense.

First up Vince won the second game when his team allowed slightly more shots, so he’s not likely to be that bad a goalie. Bad goalies don’t tend to win games when they’re outshot.

Second, it’s rather amusing when people post about how Vince isn’t a great goalie, a claim that you’ll never find him making. I’ve had a couple of discussions with him in which he openly admits that he’s not a top goalie. It’s like you’re arguing with him about how he’s not the best and he’s agreeing with you.

He’s still unbeaten this year. Still some more games to go, but I think any goalie will take an unbeaten record quite happily, whatever trash the opposition and their supporters talk.

(How his actions on this forum mean he is or isn’t a great goalie I have no idea btw).

I suspect that goes for some of the players taking stats as well too Vince. Only way to get good stats is to have one person focusing on it alone, like we did at worlds, and have them do it consistently.

Video replay would also help it <img decoding=” title=”Smiley” />

You can’t rationlise penalties like that….10 minutes doesn’t only translate to a loss of a man for 2 minutes, it means your lines are disrupted for 10 minutes, and specific people are lost for 10 minutes…

You also can’t rationalise it as a 2 plus 10 being 6 times as bad for the team as a 2 minute minor, which I think is Vince’s point.

Actually a Canadian friend posted a photo on facebook last week from the cafe.

But when I saw Jeff’s email I thought I might as well post them all up here.

Looks like the teams are coming closer together as the season progresses. Devils/Stampede split, and Admirals had a 4-4 tie and a 3-2 loss to Swarm. Hopefully Thunder can continue the trend next weekend against a Stampede team that are clearly playing pretty well.

The CRD-BSW rematch is last weekend, end of August. Those two games might decide who gets home advantage for finals, could be a good couple of games to watch.

Seven on five? You’d think one of the linesman would have called that.

Y’know, it doesn’t matter how many times I click ‘refresh’, this score never seems to change.

This whole ‘live scoring’ thing isn’t living up to its reputation.

There’s going to be a south island vs north island game later this year already.

I am, at present, compiling a list of people that “need to get out more”.

To assist them with this, I will have them banned from Dunedin Ice Stadium.

For their own good of course.
