MemberJust a note. I download all Anaheim Ducks games (though, given how they’re going so far this season, I am starting to wonder why), and all NHL on the fly shows.
The NHL on the Fly is pretty good, gives you highlights of all games, and discussion between three expert types.
If anyone wants any of them, let me know and bring a large memory stick or dvd or external drive.

MemberI got some footage from peewee nationals that my parents took over the weekend and figured out how to get it up on youtube last night.
This is some of peewees vs Canterbury, including a goal Ben Roth scored (difficult to see from where the camera was), some of the kids warming up (mostly focused on my son Alex), and a little bit of Auckland game, including the bizarre ‘time out/too many men on the ice’ incident.

MemberAnd… back to the sport with all the frozen water.
Rangers knock over Lightning in both games. Sens and Penguins split their series.

MemberIf you register for cif-forum, then the boards provide links to a web site 5minsforfighting, which holds the torrent files.
It might be a little tricky to get an invite to a login for 5minsforfighting. See here about how to get it – basically you need to make an introductory post, and jump around the boards and make a couple of real posts. Minor hoops, I remember it being easier than it says here: http://www.cifnation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9632.
Then you’re away. It’s well worth it, the quality is good, and it’s fairly prompt – normally stuff is up within 24 hours of the live game.

[/quote:1lb9z0jz]Unless you happen to be in Christchurch on the weekend of nationals, and think “gee, maybe SK8 might be open for longer hours because there’s this big ice hockey tournament on and people might want to come buy gear or sharpen their skates while they’re here.
But no, Saturday open 10-2. Sunday closed. Duh.

MemberThe final results from the DIHL, including the scoring race, goalie stats (goalie stats seem a bit wobbly) are available here:

I tell ya, two assists in the last game, one with my stick bouncing off Stefan’s helmet, another with the puck bouncing off Callum’s chest for him to put it away, and I still finish 2nd.

MemberIs this a ‘pay 2 grand for vince’s goalie gear, get a free home’ kinda deal?
A bit like a happy meal? The home is the crappy toy that breaks an hour later?
Kyle
MemberCopies of the sheet were typically given to coaches after the games, so Stephen might have yours Tom.
Kyle
MemberWait, lemme see how much money I’ve got down the back of the couch…
Damn, I almost had enough! Sorry.
Kyle
MemberGood on the Bulls. They’ve been largely the same team for 4 DIHLs now. Soon those kids will leave their parents behind and all be playing in the top grade!
Kyle
MemberThat’s good to hear Blake. From how you described it Phil was reacting to the referee as much as causing problems himself. Shame he still missed the rest of that game. How’d they go last night in their last match?
Kyle
MemberPeewees beat Canterbury 5-3 in their third game, and drew with a really good Auckland team 4-4 in their final game, picking up the silver. Ben Roth got MVP of the tournament.
Midgets looked really good all tournament, both games they beat Auckland 2-0, great to see them defend their gold medal and a few more Dunedin players in the team.
Juniors struggled the whole tournament. Best they did was within about 8 goals, they played their last game late this afternoon. Phil Bennett got a match penalty for pushing a referee this morning.

MemberBantams are under 15 year olds. 13 and 14 year olds basically.
Bantams goalie is Jamie Wood. Southern Peewees goalie is Harrison from Qtown, and my not-so-wee son Alex.
