MemberBantams played well. First game when that Chch bantams team came out I thought they were likely to win the tournament. Southern peewees played a great game to get close as 8-6 to them first up. But both Chch teams struggled with the outdoor ice and fell over a lot and the Dunedin bantams were convincing winners in that last game.
Bring on nationals, Southern won a good game 7-4 against the Canterbury peewees, so nationals is looking to be good.

MemberNo it’s OK. I’m in contact with this nice guy in Nigeria who apparently has this magic pill. He just needs $500 to get him through some difficult times and then we’re going to go into business together.
Kyle
MemberYeah that’s the concern. Someone who thinks they can make more money using it as an indoor mini-golf and bowling alley or something.

MemberI love it when people give/get medical advice on the internet.
It’s almost as good as those emails I get telling me how I can get bigger breasts.
Kyle
MemberRegan if you harass me on Wednesday night I’ll buy a box.

MemberHow’d the tournament go? I spoke to Bode last night, but she left after their morning game so couldn’t tell me how it finished up.

[/quote:b3rsiz7y]Yeah sorry Vince. You play alright and all that, but just aim to warm the bench next season. Larry’s got the net covered, maybe you’ll get some game time once he’s booked into the retirement home.

MemberI feel the need to give a major shout out to the primo goalie in the DIHL this year, Larry “Big Lazza” Wheeler, Oldtimers netminder. On Wednesday night, near the end of the 2nd period, he let in his first goal in almost 120 minutes of DIHL hockey. That’s two full games, one period, and 14 minutes of shutout, a modern DIHL record.
His magnetic ability to attract the puck onto his pads, the casual way he skates out of goal to knock the puck away, his stunning ability on the breakaway while his team just sits back and watches in awe, and the slow sweep of that accurate glove. Not to mention his relaxed puck-handling behind the net, fending off multiple forecheckers while setting up the breakout.
Obviously, he’ll be knocking all the Thunder goalies off their high and mighty perches next season, and leading Thunder to some serious shutout action. Legend.

MemberTwo teams, no goalies. Man.
Kyle
MemberHave you tried Kara? She seems to have switched to goalie the past couple of months. Or Jaimee?
Sam is a pretty good goalie if he would be willing to do it.

MemberThe draw is now available (link on the home page).

MemberI can’t see the image well enough. Is that ice, or digital trickery?

MemberLast night’s meeting was a little small, but I think the discussion about the DIHL was at least reasonably constructive and no one got too upset. Hope you didn’t find it too bad Kara.
The DIHL organisers are going to inform all players this week about what they owe. They will have until before their games next week to provide that money. If they don’t provide it, they won’t be allowed on the ice.
After Wednesday we should then have a clear picture of the financial status of the DIHL. Larry and Kara will meet with Jackie and decide how to make the competition break even – hopefully just a small extra payment for the final if everything goes well.

MemberYeah, I can’t remember exactly what he said. But he did talk about having an A and B grade, and he did talk about there being a 18 week season.
