    Stampede beat Thunder 8-4 this evening in Queenstown. Couple of match penalties given for fighting.

    Red Devils leading Admirals 7-1 after two periods in Auckland, looks like the final result was 9-2.

    Thunder beat Stampede 7-4 (I’ve also heard 3) last night in Queenstown. Was 2-2 at the end of the first. Apparently a real good effort by the Supporters Club stepping up to the noisy Stampede crowd.

    Red Devils beat admirals 7-3.

    (NZIHL web site hell slow, apparently due to nzshotesthomebaker.co.nz, figure that out)

    That’s not what they’ve told us. These three events are well over 3 million dollars in ticket sales, so it’s not a few thousands bucks that they’re taking off people to see USA vs Canada. The Commerce Commission has already spoken with the promoters a couple of times.

    NZ lose 10-9 to Austria in overtime in their quarterfinal, winning the last period 5-2 to tie it up.

    That’s a damn close result, almost made the semis of Div 1.

    Stampede to take both games up in Queenstown, though one will get tight.
    Admirals to steal one in overtime in Auckland, Devils to take the other fairly easy.

    The shipping was crap for hockey monkey $154 worth of gear, $150 shipping. Hockey Giant was $60 shipping for the same things.
