MemberForum looks nice Ryan. Why doesn’t http://dunedinicehockey.hellyer.kiwi/forum/ work anymore – redirects to home page. Is it no longer possible to construct a front page just for the forum?

MemberI presume a roof is required for IIHF standards. Cause a blizzard would make an ice hockey world champs real interesting.
Kyle
MemberActually it got me wondering which rinks in NZ are made to IIHF standards. I know ours is. I presume Paradise in Auckland is, as the a couple of years ago we hosted IIHF mens when the Ice Blacks got pounded. Are there any others?
Kyle
MemberThat blog posting is actually quite misleading – the IIHF rules on rink sizes aren’t changing, and our rink will continue to be the correct size.
What the IIHF has decided, is to keep things exactly the same as the status quo. Currently Canadian and US rinks tend to be slightly narrower. The question was whether IIHF events held in those two countries should be required to be on full size rinks. This would require any rinks hosting those champs to restructure their ice and move seats etc.
They decided not to. However the ruling only applies to those two countries. IIHF events everywhere else will still be held on IIHF sized rinks.
They also decided to retain the smaller neutral zone that you see in North America.

MemberUmm. I think it’s passed my ‘keep this for two weeks in case anyone wants it’ time limit, and been wiped over by some movie. Sorry.
Kyle
MemberA computerised booking system for the rink which could be viewed over the internet would be wonderful.
Until the rink moves on from doing its booking in a paper diary however…
Ryan Hellyer can only work with the information that he’s given on the web site, if people change times and don’t tell him or post it, then he, and everyone else who gets their information from the web site and forum, won’t know.
I’m not sure how many times he has to say “people need to tell me when they’re changing things” before it gets through.
I would have been there last night if anyone had told me that Tuesday night was permanent.

[/quote:2ukgjao8]I suspect Ryan Hellyer got that from here:

Which is where I got it from as well. When did it go from two practices on Tuesday to permanent change, and why didn’t anyone say?
"rookie#19":2ukgjao8 wrote:Sorry that sounds kinda blatant, but its just everyone texts me and ryan confused as about wen trainings and games are, so would be nice for people to know the right info ay.
[/quote:2ukgjao8]Given where the information came from, I’m not sure you’re in a position to complain Stefan!

MemberEven if Stefan has booked the ice, and the mistake is with the rink, ice hockey should give up the time. The practice on Wednesday night is important for their show, it’s their biggest event of the year, and ice hockey should just be gracious about it and not play what is essentially a game of pickup hockey.
And Neil would give them the time anyway.
It might be available later that night – 8.30 or something? They’re advertising their practice as 6 – 8.

MemberI think we need to go the animation effect. Maybe four frames.
1. Stefan stepping onto the ice looking like a pro.
2. Stefan’s legs going out from under him.
3. Stefan falling on his butt and looking like an amateur who wore his skate guards onto the ice.
4. Stefan recovering and going for his sexy pose.Got that whole historical accuracy thing going for it. Apart from the flowers.

MemberDesktops are a good idea. They’re free promotion, easy to distribute, and they can look great.
Know you’re just at the early stages, but some action shots would be good. My desktop at work has this image, from Mission. Be nice to see images of Toby in full stretch across the net with the glove in action, Stefan doing his thing down the ice and whatnot!

MemberI had no problem getting my own 5mins for fighting account following these instructions.
http://www.cifnation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8503
Just go to the cif site, make an account, post something about yourself, push the thanks button a few times.
Got me one within about 12 hours.
I personally won’t farm out my account login as the uploads and downloads are pretty closely tracked, and I have my account logged in most of the time.
