You two can have a… I dunno. A love off for it. Put the Stanley Keg in the middle of the rink and **edited R18** and the last one standing can play.

I might organise a ‘random team’ by posting on here and maybe some beginners.

If I do, I’ll post again.

The club is applying for funding for… I forget how many, but a ridiculous number of pucks. 500 or something. If that’s successful, I’m sure putting a bucket in the gallery will be part of the idea.

It just says “Dolkar and her friends in school have to create all that is needed for hockey from scratch, everything from hockey skates and sticks to the very ice they skate on.”

If you want more than that, you’ll have to go see the movie.

That first bit – one of about five decent saves Jamie made on me during the game. I started the game with the idea that it’d be nice to keep it close. Couldn’t score a goal all game!

I used email through four dihls… actually ryan did the communication for at least one dihl, and never had any problems with people not getting information. About 95% of players have email addresses, and as long as communication is done at least a day in advance people seem to get it in time.

I haven’t struck anyone in the hockey community who is completely technologically illiterate. Everyone seems to be able to receive and read email no problem, which is all that’s really required for keeping informed.

I’ve never seen any which work for NZ. Or at least, none that have worked long term. There have been services which were introduced, before adding a charge to them later on once they’ve got you hooked on it.

    Ryan,

OK. I used one a bit a few years ago, but not since.

To be honest, email is perfectly fine for contacting players, and free. Not quite as good as txt, but not so bad that it’d be worth paying $10 or something to contact everyone.

Medium isn’t the issue. There’s no system of any kind for contacting all players, Ryan tried to set one up earlier this year but gave up. Mark was then going to take it up, but it didn’t seem to go anywhere as far as I know.

Electoral poll science. Not really a science at all!

    Ditto on the different day.

And a poll which doesn’t allow you to select 3/4 options?

I don’t know any more than you, or indeed less.

But my impression from Aaron’s text, was that some practices are finished, and might be merged together informally.

It might be that juniors, intermediates have been merged into something new, involving some drills and maybe a scrimmage.

I would guess it would be primary ‘gay and lesbian’, but would actually be ‘queer friendly’. There’s quite a few of these sporting events around the world. Provide a safe environment for queer sports people, without completely shutting out other people, as long as they’re not assholes

I would suspect that’s actually a safer environment for some people. Out, in the closest, and not, can all come together and not be labelled as being gay/lesbian.

And the parties would be brilliant. Tekapo wouldn’t know what hit it.

    Sounds like an excellent idea.

But if it was to be held at Tekapo, shouldn’t the Tekapo people organise it?

Dunedin midgets lost the second game in a real close one, 5-4. Got the 4th goal with less than a minute to go, but unable to get shots on in the last 20 seconds or so with the goalie pulled. Unfortunately gave up too many breakaways early in the game, leaving their goalie wide open. Good clean game.

You booked two. One I was at, was a general game just after Jenel arrived. Then you booked another one a month or so later, I presume you collected money for that as well.
