MemberHi Marek,
There’s a whole pile of gear down at the rink. None of it is great, but there’s everything you’ll need to get out on the ice.
The only thing is, I’m not sure how long practices are going on for. Peewees had their last one this week, I’m not sure when advanced finishes.
But you could come along and play a social game 7:15 Sunday as well.

You obviously had it mounted high on your helmet, as that was more my perspective on people than yours. Almost like being able to go to practice last night.

Good god Ryan, you need to get out more. Someone take this man to the pub.

MemberReferees also spend a lot of time wagging their heads back and forward to keep all the players in vision, which is going to screw with the focus on a cheap camera I’d imagine. And in two man, they spend half their time acting as a linesman, looking at the backs of players.
I presume you could turn the camera off when you go to the bench.
The goalie would be ideal, but you couldn’t really do that in a game. Too likely to get hit and break and then the game would have to stop to clean up bits of camera.
Bit of half a dozen one way, six the other really.

MemberMake sure you stick it on a D player, or a referee.
D player, because then you’ll see the puck coming down towards you on the ice. A forward you won’t see the puck at those crucial moments.
Referee, well that makes sense. they do it in the NHL sometimes.

MemberThe footage is really clear – pretty impressive really.
Wouldn’t it be best to design the box so you can turn it on after the warmup? Can’t you make an on button hole?
You’ve got it mounted underneath the top. Can you mount it on the back, lower down? I would have thought the best footage would be between the goalies legs, and if it’s at the back, then you’ll get a wider view closer to the goal. More likely to get hit of course!

Member100 games of ice hockey and you manage to pick the first one with no goals scored at all to stick a camera in the net?
That’s like reverse talent. Remarkable!

MemberHighly technical!

In public? on a dam?? Wouldn’t that have been pretty cold?
[/quote:cjn4aj2p]It was the sixties. Probably whacked out on something.

There’ll be some proper game footage available shortly. But in the mean time, here’s a nice shot of Megan taking one for her team” title=”Tongue” />
[/quote:3eix2z0o]Unfortunately, that is more Megan taking one for Auckland.

MemberI spoke to the owner yesterday.
It is indeed true, he closed it in over the summer, and it won’t be melted this summer.
