Guys, you all need to take your eye patches off and look closely at the score sheet, think that there was 5+Gm for excessive roughness at the end, therefore 2 players go to the box, plus one player was still serving the rest of his misconduct for check from behind, plus a couple of minors each way. There is about 40 min alone.
Point is until Southern provide any suitable referees to ref in the league you will have to get used to it. There has been the same argument for years. The last good ref down south was Finchy! Think he left about 8 years ago.
what game was kelf watchin? when were there 7 on 5, uh thats right, it was the stampede with the too many men penalty late in the third!
Too many dumb penalties late in the game!! The facial that Eaden got at the end of the games is just one example! Targetting one player will fail as there are 4 others on the ice at any one time.
Slightly off topic, if Gore can get good crowds like for the game mentioned earlier in this thread, why don’t the Thunder and Stampede play a round down there?
It is an area where they both take players from so there will be some support. They may even get more spectators than a home round in Dunedin!
Last year the Devils and Stampede were meant to play a pre-season game in Tekapo but the snow came down and the Devils drove home before it got too deep. However, 20 minutes after they left the sky cleared and the Stampede played an inter squad game for the opening of the rink. Good game and venue which is not used enough by either SIHL or Canty.
I don’t think that with the short season it gives a realistic goalie statistics. Rick let in the same number of goals in one game as Zak in 2!
If you look at the last couple of years you would more than likely find that Zak would come out on top.
Stats are a wonderful thing and can be used to whoevers benefit!
The League rules have not been well written and the spirit of it would indicate that players who incur 5 plus GM in last 10 should sit the following game as an instant suspension but was worded incorrectly, therefore no suspension. I would expext that this will be sorted for next year.
Who were they really hurting expect one players pride!! Lineys did a good job not to allow other players to join in.
yeah, but that could be said for any number of teams except possibly the Swarm, but the Devils are scoring heaps more goals than conceding, do the maths!

I spoke to him in his alter ego away from the Queenstown rink and he told me that he has been to every Admirals game since the National league’s first year. Thats dedication!!!

Jofa, you’ve also forgotten about Ruddle, he has been scoring a hat full and they are on the same line. the devils have more than one goal scorer despite having both eaden and ruddle, several others are chipping with a couple per game, just check the stats.
think that marking eaden is the role of the d and the other forwards should be preventing/closing the passing lanes down to assist the d.
i think that both eaden and ruddle will still score a couple of goals each game.
depends whether you want to call drift netting for pucks a legitimate sport or that applying sunscreen to the back of his neck is an OSH issue!!!
can he post on ‘slapshot’ from the bench? probably split the games again!
