Sorry mate (kyle) Im not to sure what you are talking about there. I guess Im not up with the forum lingo. We will just agree that chris is a good player but I obviously dont think he is quite as good as you do!
Puck LoverMemberHaha, I hope Kyle is a real hot chick or I would be worried if I was Chris Eaden. You seem pretty into him buddy! Oh well thats good to see players are starting to get a bit of a fan base. Dont get me wrong chris is a good player, but I would love to know which overseas scouts are looking at him. I cant wait for the games this weekend! please post scores up as soon as the games are over, us unable to make them will all be waiting.
Puck LoverMemberHey hey boys, Everyone can have an opinion. Jofa player obviously has an opinion. I believe he is right about Aston, I do think he is the future. Heard he has had a bit of bad luck. Hope he hasn’t bent his riffle barrel, hahaha!
Puck LoverMemberI personally just wouldn’t be making statements about the best forward lines in the country after playing just the weaker teams in the competition. And like I said I dont think someone getting alot of goals against the weaker teams makes them a whole lot a better player. Not taking it away from the devils forwards. However we all have our own opinions. Oh and I thought the purpose of a forcheck was to create scoring opportunities. To put an end to it I guess we will see in a matter of weeks when the two teams meet face to face. Think the thunder have that weekend off so might be worth going for a look expect fireworks! Go the thunder this weekend! Lets get the win at home!

I think that the fact that when Thunder played Stampede they were able to have a solid forcheck which made the Stampede cough the puck up quite a few times shows a little of the problems Stampede might have. Canterbury has the top forward lines in the league. If a Thunders forcheck can put that much pressure on Stampede and keep them in their zone then I think a solid Canterbury forecheck could potentially do more damage. In any case we’ll just have to see what the outcome of the games are.
[/quote:mg7mtqg0]Hmmmmm, Interesting comments. When I say interesting I mean where do you come up with this stuff! I am first and foremost a thunder fan but behind them I like to see our southern cousins the stampede do well and as we have had a what you could say disapointing season I am very happy for them, to see they are goin well. Ok now defense 101, Im picking you are a player as you have made some pretty big calls, so I guess you are talking from experience. I think the Stampede are more than able to handle the physical nature of any team. They have a number of ice blacks and experienced players who I’m sure have played alot more physical teams from oversea’s. So I’m picking the contact isn’t gonna be an issue. Then you go on about our forecheck troubling the stampede defense. Hmmm. They may have coughed the puck up but 10 – 0 and 11- 0. Hardly a defense worry. What next. Canterbury has the top forward lines in the country. Where do you find that stat. THE BEST FORWARDS. I must be looking in the wrong places. Canterbury has played the Admirals and us. Hardly testing. They might have scored alot of points but it is impossible to say they are better than the other lines in the competition. Maybe you are right but, Ill make my decision after this weekend when the red devils finally have some pressure with the swarm hitting there town
Puck LoverMemberSome of the points bought up in this page are absolutely ridiculous. Like V patrol earlier said this league is so very dependant on who turns up on the night. Who gets the bounces on the night! Although we were awesome against the swarm in that close one I think we are looking into it to much! By the sounds of it we were out played, and can thank Rick alot for that result! As last nights game showed the two teams are pretty even! And It will again show for the rest of the series the winner will be who wants it most! And as for the comment about a weakness of Mike Parsons, Idiot!
Puck LoverMemberI think that is a good idea and a huge thing Ryan has offered to do for the club. Cheers mate we should take him up on this for sure. Not taking anything away from the forum though we are extremely lucky to have this awesome service
Puck LoverMemberNo one wants to end bottom of the table so I am looking for a huge series, and some awesome heart and intensity coming from both teams. I honestly think if we play well we can take 3 out of the 4 games. I know that the admirals are without jeff bonazzo who has been there main scorer this season and they are like us down on confidence also coming off some embarassing losses! So I think we need to put the last two weeks results behind us and be confident we can beat these westy outrageous fortune bogans!! haha
Puck LoverMemberYou would think if the team could afford new jerseys, The best rink in the country, then they could do something as simple as a website! The stampede website looks awesome they seem to have alot goin for them this year!
Puck LoverMemberI heard something today that I find very weird. Please tell me our coach didn’t lock the players in the room to think about the game. I find this coaching technique extremely weird, how are the boys supposed to go into any game with confidence! Whats next I have heard stories of Asian teams having to get on the bus after the game in all there gear and stay in it till they are ready to show up. It would be a long drive home from Queenstown. Very confused?????
Puck LoverMemberYou know what Jofa player is dead right the boys need as many supporters as we can down there this weekend because I’m sure as always the queenstown public will be out in force. 3 hours is not a long drive for the fireworks I am expecting, nothing like a local grudge match! I think the team will do well down there this week on the smaller ice surface and The stampede will feel the force of the big rigs like Van leuween. I think the boys will take it to them and as we know some of the stampede have pretty short fuse’s ( a few helmet throwing incidents) hopefully we will throw them off there game. We may not get the win against a good team full of experience but I’m looking for a close one and a couple of goals will be nice!
Puck LoverMemberIt’s awesome to see the players are taking the thoughts of the supporters so seriously and that the boys are taking the losses as hard as we are in the stands! With this attitude we will finally start achieving our goals of getting that win we all want!!! Rip it up boys and although the competition doesnt get any easier lets take another step this weekend!
June 23, 2009 at 7:57 am in reply to: Southern League sees Penguins spank Gore and Queens town. #10653Puck LoverMemberI Dont think a Mercy 10 goal rule is a good idea at all. Im sure the kids enjoy every minute out there and and Just to get one goal is a huge sense of achievement for a kid. Even if he gets beaten 15 – 1 bet he tells all his mates about the one goal he scored. The Thunder didnt give up when they got beaten 15 – 2 in the weekend. Bet they enjoyed every goal they scored. It’s a huge effort to even score on great players like Adam Soffer and Chris Eaden.
Puck LoverMemberI hope the ambulance is present at these events. Sounds a bit extreme alright. I like my knee’s way to much to go off a jump and land on the flat ice surface.
Puck LoverMemberWas a little bit disapointed the team couldnt come and see the supporters after the game on sunday, win or lose. Heard they spent a bit of time in the changing room!
