its good to finally hear an interview where the host has done some research into ice hockey first. there were no generalised questions about what hockey is. he asked about certain players and how other events around the hockey world affect us here player number wise etc. was good, even if jeff was hard to hear

yea my counting skills are atrocious! almost as bad as vpatrols skills at getting jokes. and im going to be an accountant! crap! regan, you have a good point, i cant really compare crowds for watching games against the bottom ranked teams can i? ah well im allowed a rant.

vpatrol, im pretty sure our crowds were almost always bigger than chch but since we actually have a grandstand it looks like there’s no one there. if the chch rink wasnt patheticly small your crowds mite look woeful too,as it is you have an advantage on us there. im picking sell out crowds for the final in dunedin later this year

Loving the support from the club president… anywho, its always good to be the underdogs. though i doubt thunder will be taken lightly this year. Thunder both games

Poor Admirals, no one thinks they will get anywhere! I hope they can pull through an upset, if they have improved as the thunder have improved then this is going to be one hell of a year in the NZIHL

And having lived in both these places i would go so far as to say that the situation in Dunedin is far more dire than in gore.

I dont know about the other teams but we would be fairtly hard pressed to find time in our schedules for more then that one pre season game, clearly the stampede had ample time. Good idea though. how was the ice and crowd at tekapo?

We have a better team than last year, to put that bluntly but i think we can all agree on that. James is to thank in no small part for upping the level of our team, he has involved no politics and everything he does is clear so everyone in the team knows where they stand at all times. hence we have a full squad of our best players.

yes i had it that whole time, it used to sit in my glove but i have finally lost it 2 years later.
Before i had that particular mouthguard i took a stick to my mouth, that lucky for me only cracked my front teeth, i feel almost certain that, had i been wearing a mouthguard (this would have been a cheap one as i was a student) i would have lost more than the bottom of my teeth. the mouthguard i owned at the time only just covered my teeth and would most likely have taken my teeth with it. This does happen ask around, one of the canadians team mates team came all out with his mouthguard during a practice, i cant say i like this idea
Now on the subject of my ability to operate a motor vehicle…

the problem with getting a dentist fit mouthguard is that they cost about $100 or more. So lets assume you are wearing it when you are out on the ice, as soon as you get off the ice, bhecause you were skating so hard, you are gasping for breath and after a mouthfull of water, the easiest way to go about this is to take you mouthguard out and put it either on the bench or on the boards (where the drink bottes go). now suppose you forget to put it back in, which is quite often the case, especially at the end of the game. now suppose you get off the ice into the changing rooms and back off home and your $100 mouthguard is still on the bench. Whats the bet that the rink staff would recoginise it as being an expensive mouthguard and not throw it out?
yea right! im not wasting my money on another $100 mouthguard! or even $40 shock doctor. a $5 is the best bet because if you lose it its only $5.
