i have never been concussed / knocked out playing with NO mouthguard. what i do know is that they restrict my breathing (not healthy) and they make communication difficult. i have abosolutely no faith in a mouthguard to save any sort of injury. rubbish things.
Who intriduce the mouthguard rule in the 1st place? I assume it was at IIHF level, so was it lawyers avoiding law suits in countries like america where there is no ACC? or was it ACC here? or was it those people who think safety comes before fun? either way bad decision though the only one i could agree with really is from the insurance companies complaining about payoutsthirteenMemberits sort of like bum-fighting where you promise food to the homeless guy that wins and it makes them fight like madmen. Frozen coke will be the decider in this, the more frozen coke on offer the worse rout is going to get beat down
thirteenMemberforget the tua cameron fight, this will be the fight of the century in new zealand
thirteenMemberyea mat enright is super fast! and a hard worker. the two canadians havnt done too much skating yet, nut they can sure as hell shoot and pass better than most people ive seen
thirteenMemberim personally picking tom over rout, if anyone saw his eyes of fire last year in auckland vs the swarm, you would know theres a lot of pent up aggression in there that will one day find its way through his fists. and im not kidding, even i was scared and he was sticking up for me
thirteenMemberis that 3 teams with new coaching staff this year? thunder, admirals and red devils? any others fresh in that department?
thirteenMemberAnyone know how the admirals are looking this year? Sounds like its going to be the season the league needs. Looking forward to some close hard fought games.
I hope argyle plays, he brings an element of excitement to our games that would be lagging if he doesnt play. considering James Van Leeuwan is coaching and not playingthirteenMemberThey arent only outstanding fines but also outrageous
thirteenMemberthats a good option. i like it. someone needs to talk to these rink managers, sort them out. make them “an offer they cant refuse”. I know it makes better business sense doing what they do but im sure they could let half an hour slide, just let the people going skating, at the public session, watch the rest of the game, problem solved, i doubt there would be many people who complained about getting to watch the last 20 minutes of a national league ice hockey match for free, and having their skating delayed by a mere 20 mins at the most
thirteenMemberTHats good stuff, every club should have a web sight. it opens it more up to promotion with the younger kids who we would like to see playing. theres not enough promotion of hockey to younger players. every club needs to have a big recruitment drive at primary schools around their area
thirteenMemberThats awesome! wicked that we dont have to spend next years worlds messing round just to get back to div 2. We can now claim that we are in Div 2. This is excellent news for new zealand ice hockey.
thirteenMemberoh crap is there a round that weekend? where is the southern league draw to view so we can plan around it?
thirteenMemberWe all have faith in the guys to play as hard as they can. There will be no backing down from any of them. Good work, take it to those dirty Europeans!
thirteenMemberRick Parry IS ice hockey! BOOM!
thirteenMemberGood try, the books are only for otago southland, youll have to buy the chch edition if you want any decent use out of yours wont you? i think one of the clubs there sell them, hold on just checked and its the canterbury SNC league. contact alison reid if you want a chch one
