thirteenMemberryan, you realise that that little thing at the bottom of each of your blogs is what is wrong with nz sport?
thirteenMemberdun dun duuun
thirteenMemberthats a good effort with out those guys, even though cristos isnt on your roster, hes a reserve player. im looking foward to our game this coming week, the 2 top teams, both unbeaten.
on a different note, its a damn good competition we have going here, good work pete on making 4 even teams in the a grade. im impressed with the FYC they played prettty freakin good the otheer night. both our games so far have been hard won. its good timesthirteenMemberits should be quiet and it should be up to the coach of the older team for several reasons, like my esteemed collegue rhys pointed out that coach may not want any extra player up with him. that player might be a terror to coach, like my esteemed collegue rhys is. if it is done quietly then there is less pressure on that player to perform as his own peers wont get the chance to egg him on or cut him down if hes not quite up to scratch for the next level.
if its up to the coach and no one else it stops parents haggling the coach because their kid meets the criteria but isnt training up a level. good idea but needs to be a quiet thing by the coach upthirteenMemberjamrock thats not the point. the point is that its a north vs south team, if parsons doesnt come from the south then he shouldnt be able to play for the south, there are plenty of other goalies who could be playing in the game but got shoved aside by someone who doesnt even qualify
thirteenMemberbloody hell! check out the size of the rattlers defense! the smallest is my size and they just get bigger!
thirteenMemberkyle, that sort of thing has been happening in clubs for a long time, its always the case that if there is a player who stands out in his age group he practices with the next group up. its just a matter of either the player asking the coach or the coach scoutin the player
thirteenMemberwhy would you make the game non contact? we have a huge lack of checking hockey here, especially in that age group. then theres a chance to have a good contact game and is it contact? no!
Whats the story?thirteenMemberRhys, all my role models when i was leaning to play were drunk all the time, and i fell like i turned into a semi-respectable chap! Kids need to have someone fun to look up to, i know i wont want my kids not experiencing the fun side of life and laughing at alcoholic old people! we used to do pub crawls back from Naesby to gore when i was in peewees! the coaches would get plastered and we would get high on coke and raspberries! it was what hockey was about.
Id like to see that sort of thing implemented in the Dunedin club, but i feel that if any coach did that these days they would get fired. we live in sad times. man i feel old, im telling old people stories, i must be turning into a van leeuwan! god help me if thats the case!thirteenMemberGO JOHNNIES! eat that bullfrogs!
thirteenMemberim keen but i cant do this saturday as il b drunk but apart from that im here to help out
