Im rolling for the Thunder Stampede rivalry too. The history between these two teams goes back long before the teams were even incorporated, the history of competition between Queenstown and Dunedin has always been massive, even though for the last few years Queenstown/Stampede have had the upper hand in the skills department. The fact that the Thunder were originally a team of Stampede fringe players boosts this rivalry as the Thunder want to show that they are more than fringe players and have the potential to win the league. With the Thunders victories over the stampede last year, especially the 13-0 spanking on the Stampedes home turf, I can imagine that the Stampede will be back to prove a point, a point that the Thunder will do their best to not let them prove. Always physical, always fast and always full of grit and determination.

The stampede attack was good, but not great, they ran one move which beat the thunder a fair few times, that is pass up the middle to a high guy crossing, when on the break out. They had the safer hands on the passes but lacked a lot of creativity on the offense. Also the thunder had the speed advantage over the stampede with their new import tommy being rather slow a couple of guys being old. not that im in any position to be critical, but i see what i see

obviously a thunder point of view there…

Stampede import tommy is slow, sorry for the confusion. Unless he was tricking us into thinking he was slow
