for a league trying to grow and attract new sponsors and fans, having a website that is outdated is inexcuseable.  Cheapens the league and all those who work hard to promote it.  Especially when there were offers to help keep it updated.  A bit too much faith is being put into this Jez fellow me thinks.

well thunder entered the league in 2008 so they miss out on 3 years of previous NZIHL history.  In 08 and 09, Stampede were the better team quite handily over thunder.  There’s the whole SIHL thing but that’s not NZIHL.  Plus I don’t think Stampede consider it a rivalry although they would have to confirm.

08 and 09 Devils were far and away better then Thunder.  Last year was closer league-wide.  With only 2 games this year and no real bad blood, I wouldn’t call it a rivalry and the team doesn’t consider the Thunder as a rivalry

Stampede and Devils have more of a history.  Stampede were the team to beat in 05, 06.  Devils had their number in 07.  Tightly contested games in 08 with Devils on top.  Met in the finals in 09.  Split games I saw in chch last year.  Both teams consider each other to be substantial threats and always have.

New site coming this week it says on the site. I know the designer was crazy busy this weekend filming in Christchurch and Dunedin, but hopefully it’s up soon.

So does that explain why its had one update since last years final?  Neglecting the current site is a pretty silly thing to do.

Hmmm you raise interesting point there Vinny.

I just noticed Eaden a lot, I can’t even remember all the shooters.

    Us. Yvan-Enright-Hassan-Gino,????

    Canterbury. Eaden-Harrop-Jacques-Papai,???

Anyone remember the players, and the actual order?

As Kyle said we were down two first choice shooters.

Argyle and Sparf also shot for us.  Pretty sure Eaden didn’t shoot 6 times however having the top goal getter for the league a couple years in a row shooting often is not a silly idea.  There’s a reason you had Saeed and Heyd shoot 3 times instead of Sinclair.

The team did have to rush off for the flight.  A 7pm departure when the game was still going at 630pm wasn’t ideal.  Air NZ held the plane for them fortunately.  I’m sure most of the Thunder understood there wasn’t any slight intended otherwise none of us would have stayed to shake hands.

current rosters can only be found on some individual team sites like devils and thunder.  Disappointing that the promo side of things is sliding downhill.

devils thunder is still pretty lopsided.  devils/stampede is more fiercely contested I think.  Thunder/Stampede has a bit of a subplot but its also fairly lopsided except for a couple blips.

Haha, yeah I am not sure where that celebration came from, although said shooter scored on his attempt and there were still 3 shooters after that premature celebration I believe. So no harm no foul.

I guess since Red Devils only used Eaden (1-6) for their shootout though, there was only one shooter from Red Devils left. (Although I think Jacques took the last shot which seemed like a strange decision.)

yet Canterbury fielded more different players in the shootout then dunedin.  Funny that.

3 points on offer each game.  3 for regulation win.  2 for overtime or shootout win.  1 for overtime or shootout loss
