yeah what Ryan said. Although mistakes are bound to happen in any new undertaking, some of the mistakes would/could have been avoided through consultation/solicitation of knowledge already in the community. Some have gone through the process already and have a wealth of knowledge that shouldn’t be ignored. Especially if the hockey community is being asked to support it in many ways.
what about using the free resources that exist within the hockey community. Not only is there expertise within the realm of commentary and stats and correct camera position etc etc, but there is also many who would volunteer their time freely for whatever position is required.
couldn’t hurt to ask if the organizers were keen to have them. Can’t imagine they wouldn’t if we are welcoming australian teams. Would make a warm fuzzy media story.
verdict from nhl was a two game suspension. Clearly the NHL is associated with the US military’s don’t ask, don’t tell policy.

we just need non-hockey fans to turn their tv’s on to it even if they have no intention of watching it
