I actually didn’t reference the table for goal differential. I forgot about thunders big win on the weekend.
vpatrolMemberStampede can get 4th only if Thunder lose both. They would tie for points with Devils but the head to head record favors Devils. A Thunder Devils split sees the finishing order Devils, Thunder, Stampede.
An OT win for Devils and a regulation win for Thunder would see the Devils take 3rd as a result of better goal differential even with a matching head to head record and equal points.

vpatrolMemberRed Devils are on 20 points. They received a point for the OT loss. They are fighting for 3rd place now.
I think the Stampede used this year as a rebuild year to blood in new players. With the ice time the young guys got and a crop of imports next year, I think they will be very competitive.
Congrats to Swarm and Admirals for making the finals. It was nice having a close race until the end.
vpatrolMemberAdmirals win as well. 6-5 I think. All Auckland final.
vpatrolMemberI thought it was a rebound on first look. Should have been an easy call for the near side ref. Guess not

[/quote:342awrcx]did the other poll not allow that or was i not paying attention?
vpatrolMemberbased on recent form, I’m leaning towards an all Auckland final. Thunder have been too up and down this year to make a real push at this stage. Having the Admirals sweep the Red Devils in all 4 games would have been a laughable notion pre-season. They are playing well recently and the Devils have lost 3 of their last 4. The Admirals have something to play for in the first time in many years.
vpatrolMembernot sure how to comment on that
vpatrolMemberso are you all saying that canty is not a dominant force at nats this year? ” title=”Sad” />
vpatrolMemberscore?
vpatrolMember“too early to answer a lot of your questions” means that the over 35 mens team who normally play every sunday at 9pm in Brampton Ontario and the mixed house league team who play shinny hockey in Flushing Meadows NY have yet to confirm their travel details to NZ.
vpatrolMemberthere is no over arching referee body in NZ that deals with refs and has jurisdiction over all regions. If you are a Dunedin team and you have a problem with a ref in Auckland, its really a case of tough crap! A “governing body” for refs is a step towards ensuring all refs have the same training, expectations, review procedures, learning opportunities etc. At the moment, I think its more of a local thing which means regions can develop quite differently.
vpatrolMemberto clarify, the complaint procedure would be for general managers of nzihl teams and rep teams at nationals. Not just a player having a moan about something. Ofiicial complaints about performance of a ref or conduct etc.
vpatrolMemberon a side note, I think there needs to be an avenue for complaints as well. Just like major codes can file complaints to a referee body and have those issues addressed. A formal procedure adds legitimacy to the league. There are procedures in place to deal with players, the same needs to happen with the stripey guys. Not saying it has been needed this year but just in case it is….
