Yet we watch the captains of crab boats sit in their chairs season after season. Then we watch sword fisherman. Can’t imagine how many other reality shows there are. I think the back up goalie can hold his/her own amongst that company. Gumbies are low skill versions of the back up goalie.
vpatrolMember“Rise and Fall of the Backup” – A tale of alienation and the constant search for acceptance in the far corners of the change room. Slightly above equipment manager in the depth chart, this documentary follows the back up from obscurity to the limelight and the eventual return to obscurity again. Edge of the bench material will make you laugh and cry.
vpatrolMembermost under-rated player on the ice!
vpatrolMemberno respect for the back up!

I thought the Zamboni and the getting changed as the song warmed up was cool, it would have been sweet if they slotted in Hellyers stick cam footage, sped up as it leaves dressing room, right when the song amps up.
I guess nature of not much footage, but there were too many guys falling down, (as opposed to being actually hit) and not enough goals, hits or saves.
I think it was pretty sweet video in all, given lack of source material.
7/10 from me.
[/quote:nb1x749h]I agree. Quality looked good but content needs a bigger library to choose from. Guys falling really doesn’t need to be there. Can’t see that aspect promoting the sport. Compared to what we normally see on youtube, it definately a step in the right direction.
vpatrolMembersplitsville for both sets of games for me.
vpatrolMemberI think the more information available, the better it will be. I think they should publish properly formatted game sheets too.
vpatrolMemberThere aren’t any official deciders in the events manual as to who is placed higher. So in the absence of such info, the whim of the editors (primarily in Dunedin) make the call ” title=”Wink” />
It’s great being unofficial

[/quote:3iqaoadp]tie at the end of regulation is one point for both teams. OT win is another point.
vpatrolMemberHow about a report Aston?
vpatrolMemberEnded 5-0 to devils according to nzihl.com. Big 3rd period.
vpatrolMemberAny updates out of Qtown?
vpatrolMemberI had my favorites however I now think its whoever turns up on the day. We have said that in the past however it’s true this year. The Devils last year had some unspectacular games however we still won them all convincingly (except against STP where we had to play well to win). I think talent alone won a few games last year. This year the teams are more evenly matched so when a team goes to sleep, they will lose. The Devils are still the most talent laden team I think however the Admirals proved a smart disciplined game can beat talent.
I’m thinking whoever emerges as the best coached and most disciplined team will win it.
vpatrolMemberbecause its local, they spread it out so one is a weekday. They did it last year too.
vpatrolMemberofficial channels are slow getting results emailed in I reckon. Last couple years its been mostly texts to keep us curious folk informed. I’m sure adding more to the list of recipients is easily done
