MemberTrying to collate these suggestions, can we “box” these ideas into a package format for other provinces/areas? Essentially create a how to guide complete with forms, expenditures, funding apps etc. At present it seems that each region is embracing their own ideas, which are good ideas, however should be have a national program pushing in one direction? Leaving it to each region seems to ensure some will move forward, others will not.

MemberThat wasn’t the Thunder! That was some team in grey. Nobody knew who they were though because we couldn’t read the jerseys. The Thunder only played a couple games in Auckland I hear.

Memberso backtracking on the ideas which are good starts, how do we get it going? Do we need to just promote the game regionally or do we need nzihf involved? I concerned with the who as much as the what. Awesome ideas become dusty without a person with vision and a drive to work towards it.

MemberI’m not sure if Jordane was the best player this year even without Janos. He’s up there though.
I don’t think Duncan or Vlok made it. I may be mistaken but Jeff did the selections. Possibly with input from others.

Membervalid points.
Now how do we get into the primary school system? Ball hockey perhaps or something else?
It’s about $1000 per game for local tv to cover a game. Wouldn’t want to guess how much for sky although I doubt they would cover it initially unless winter games got a great response. How do we raise money for that or attract local tv?

MemberI don’t think watching it makes anyone an expert either. Certainly not watching it in NZ with the limited opportunities.

Membersorry for the “?” . Word did that in the conversion.

MemberI would argue that if you get personal, you should have a clue. At least a minor one.

MemberWow! My bad, by the tone of your replies and posts, I assumed we had a hidden gem in you. Usually people don’t slam someone elses ability unless their own surpasses it or they have some damn good expertise to explain it.

MemberShame you aren’t playing in it Marty. I tried googling your name and finding anything to do with ice hockey and you. It only listed webmaster. There’s got to be some error right? Cause you’ve played high level hockey in Canada or Europe or somewhere right? At least an IB at some point? I can’t remember you on the Stampede but you may have been pursuing your pro career or an expert advisor on some hockey show. That would explain that. Oh wait, you must be a coach? Level 3 I bet or above. Yeah, that’s gotta be it. Cause there’s no way a webmaster would be ballsy enough to pretend he knows this much about hockey without the experience to back it up. That would just be silly. We all know you aren’t silly.

Memberbecause he IS the most “skilled” player in the league. He’s played more than 2 games in his life. His skill has not dimished since last year. You are somehow linking fitness to skill which is irrelevant. Drop Gretzky into NZ and say he is not the most skilled person in the country even though he hasn’t played in many years. Janos is no Gretzky but he’s still better skilled than any other player in the league.
I’m pretty sure there isn’t a vote for most skilled in any league. Most valuable to a team for that season. No where did I say he was the most valuable to the team this year. I said he’s the most skilled. It’s my vote and probably the vote of anyone who understands hockey I would wager.
The Janos Kaszala player came preloaded from the factory.

MemberHe’s been voted the league mvp. He’s also played the highest level of pro and international hockey in the country. He’s also featured in a playstation game. Anyone in queenstown like that?
