CIHA bankrolls any shortfalls we get so extras go to them which I think get bumped back to devils anyways. The actual rink is privately owned. They rent their services. Their services are roughly 300 per hour. Why should they profit from the game other than vending sales which they keep?

This weekend will be some sort of indictor of how not being in a uni break will effect the crowd. Otherwise we have to sit down and think how best to get people in the ground
[/quote:3k4yeamw]Idea: Dunedin Thunder vs All Blacks. Indoor rugby match at Dunedin Ice Stadium. Event will sell out so be quick. No refunds.
vpatrolMembernot a good sign when the thunder have to pay a minimum amount to the league per home round. Sounds like its out of pocket in some cases.
vpatrolMemberwhy does the rink require half? How about we pay them the $300 per hour ice hire and they can keep vending sales. That’s how nzihl works. Why would it be different for IB’s vs Aus. Plus that game would be an awesome way to get kids caring about competing for an IB’s spot in the future. Can’t put a price on that.
vpatrolMembera revenue sharing agreement could be worked out as well between the two countries. Also remember that the aihl have a number of teams who fully fund themselves. They may not worry so much as we do with funding.
The IB’s playing Aus has to be beneficial. Every year there are expensive training camps. Since Aus is the team we want to beat, makes sense to play them more often I would think. Logistically though, its not as easy as one would hope. Their schedules may not work with ours. You ideally want two in form teams facing eachother.

[/quote:1dehicx6]joke about family getting free tickets as well as other people. probably more than 40 but joke is dead now anyways.

[/quote:8f3p3xw6]and at least 40 of those paid to get in!
vpatrolMembernoooooo, don’t feed the trolls! I made that mistake.
vpatrolMemberIt was 21 and 26 I believe. Couple canucks. 21 was a large looking lad. Couple of solid d-men
vpatrolMemberPeople should forget about the coach and find the people that vandalized the new Thunder jerseys.
vpatrolMemberif you talking about me (everyone does so safe assumption), I’m not eligible for IB duty due to not having completed a 2 year stand down period required for IIHF. Rick and Zak are pretty safe/smart bets anyways so eligibility is moot point. Glad Justin is getting a look though.
KC was unofficially one of the best players for the IB’s during the worlds in newcastle in 07.
vpatrolMemberI coulda been a contender
vpatrolMemberfrom what I understand, it’s mainly newcastle with a few sydney bears thrown in. Vlad Rubes probably. Newcastle has always been a frontrunner in the aihl but it will be interesting to see them without their imports. That being said, Matt Ezzy is a northstar so goaltending won’t be a problem.
