No surpises there you didn’t see 2 pucks in the first, 1 in the 2nd and 1 in the third either

I didn’t see the second goal but I saw the other 3.

we had a dedicated shot taker. Not even taking numbers, just location. I suspect most of the missed shots are the scrambles. After the first shot, they look down to record and miss 2 3 and 4. They try though.

it was jerome reffing, i was there in chch for a meeting went to the games all i can say is that chch goalies are so average same with that new guy playing for them i think he’s called jerome, the dicipline was lacking in both sides but it was pretty even between teams but some how stampede had atleast 3 times as many minutes in the bin, especially at the end of the game stampede having 5 in the bin chch having 3,

stats are notoriously bad in the nzihl. Not only on the scoresheet but on the website too. Our own stat takers down south had about 40 more shots per game then the official scoresheet. Bless those ladies in dunedin though, they try hard.

I believe you have it the other way around. Devils outshot the Stampede badly according to the scoresheet on saturday (I only looked at sheet briefly). Sundays game had stampede taking 36 and devils taking 33.

whatever. I’m done talking about it. Stampede won on saturday. Devils won on sunday. Both teams deserved their win.

Yep, really even 53mins vs 16mins penalties

How about you take away the 10 minute ones and replace with that 2 minutes served as far as man advantage. A hit to the head is a hit to the head. You hit to the head, you go to the box, you feel shame.

score sheet may say something different. minutes weren’t lopsided. Stampede scored on a 5 on 3 to make it closer. Maybe Jerome was the 7th man for Southern on that one?? Refs did a decent job and I’m one who has written letters in the past complaining of refs. I didn’t see any major mistakes.

Justin Findlay was in net for the ‘Dev’s on saturday and Vince was in on Sunday. Thomas Gobiel played both games for Stampede. On sunday, Vince and Gobiel were tested right from the start with 5 goals in the first 4 minutes. Good solid goal tending from all 3 goalies though.

Can you not mention the first 4 minutes? I still have trouble sleeping.

there were tonnes of cheap shots and not just devils. Stacey and Braden were in form as expected. It’s going to happen when two physical teams play. Nobody got hurt and the penalties were pretty even. Therefore the scorelines reflected the play and not the penalty box for both games.

Short Answer: Yip

Long Answer: Yip he can!

Ask the ref if it was legal or not – really doesn’t matter now does it, well done guys, to have had to play seven on five most of the last 10min sounds like some pretty solid defense – which if you believe what you read here in the forum, is what the Stampede are lacking Demonic lol

Can he be stopped?

Short answer- yes
Long answer- yes, but not for very long. He’s baaaacccckkkk!

there weren’t any penalties called against us or the stampede that weren’t actually penalties. Blame the refs if you want. You must have been there and had a better view than us.

1-1 after 1st (stampede scored on a 3 on 0. Devils on a scramble in front)
3-1 after 2nd
3-2 in the end. Eaden scored with about 1 minute to go.

We just didn’t show up and play. Stampede beat us fair and square. Refs were fine. They let the game play. Penalities were pretty even. We’ll see what tomorrow brings. I’ll reserve judgement until then.

still 0-0 but Stampede are due for an injection of fresh legs tomorrow. Some Tekapo boys fresh off an Erewhon Cup win I hear. Canadian accents.
