vpatrolMemberneilson is a canadian guy so he knew how to fight apparently. A lawyer too. Who knew
As far as the suspension goes, I think the refs need to make a referral on the game sheet whether its worthy of a suspension. Or so I’ve heard. In this case, it was two guys roughly even in height going at it and nobody was hurt. No need for suspension so they both played sunday. Neilson was in his civies during handshake on sunday so not sure if he got hurt or not. Wasn’t from the fight though

[/quote:2pdl163i]So you pretty well have to mark every single man. That’s what I was pointing out. You need lots of fast forwards, not just a couple.
vpatrolMemberSwarm thought that would work too. KC Ball shadowed Eaden. However, Ryan Ruddle got 4 goals. Eaden still had 3. Don’t forget Paris Heyd too. That’s just one line. And then there’s the other guys…..
vpatrolMemberRunning costs are much lower with a concrete pad. The ice is rougly 4.5 inches at the moment with a sand base. A typical concrete pad is about 1 inch thick. Easier to keep that frozen.
vpatrolMemberso boards and no concrete? Thought it was the other way around.
vpatrolMemberThere you go. Thunder are separated from the DIHA. Thought there was something different about you guys.
vpatrolMemberThe ice is supposed to be taken out so concrete can be put down. Should improve the quality of the ice. Shame they nixed the idea of replacing the boards at the same time. Stupid economy
vpatrolMemberNew Rink. Big Wednesday. I’ve got a good feeling this week.

In the case of Thunder, the DIHA gets all the gate receipts just like CIHA here. In case of any shortfalls, they are the one who have to front up the difference to the league. Don’t think the rink gets anything unless you have a special arrangement. If I recall, didn’t Neil buy a whole bunch of tickets last year as support?
vpatrolMemberTv doesn’t need to be there for warm-up or team talk but yeah, networks like the CBC spend about 3 hours with pre-game and game…assuming it doesn’t go into OT.
Your 20 minutes allocated for each period should be closer to 40 mins each with stop clock.
vpatrolMemberI think you misunderstand the context Marc’s quote.
vpatrolMemberthat’s the silliest rationale I have ever heard. The Edmonton Oilers have one of the best seasons played vs Stanley Cups wins of all time. Guess that means they should win next year. Ignore the fact that the Stampede teams that won were years ago and the league has changed since then. Swarm also beat Dunedin 3 to 2 in one game. Guess Stampede should not beat Dunedin by more than 3 to 2 or something is wrong with the universe. Ignore the fact that we beat Thunder and Dunedin by larger margins than Stampede.
Your logic is useless with all due respect. Until Stampede and Devils play, everything is pure speculation. Some of the speculation will be more silly than others. In a one game final, history doesn’t really matter either.
vpatrolMemberGood game by the way. Swarm had a 1 to nil lead after the 1st. We just couldn’t get many quality shots on. Zak was playing well too which didn’t help.
Second period went to the Swarm on the scoreboard and in a few other categories as well. I let in a couple goals that I would like back. Swarm led 4 to 2 after the 2nd.
Third period was nervous (for me). We got an early one which helped and we slowly kept plugging away and the pucks starting finding the net. Swarm still challenged though. Like yesterday, both teams had to work hard to kill off the copious amounts of penalties. Didn’t see the final total but I think they were pretty close in numbers. Good game. Swarm came to play.
vpatrolMemberThey make more money from public sessions than they do from ice hockey. Speed skating and figure skating take up the rest along with lessons.
